If even one person is touched in Bengal, we will protest in Delhi: Didi at Ranaghat

Trinamool Chairperson today addressed arally at Ranaghat in support of the party candidate Tapas Mandal. She slammedthe BJP for their divisive politics. Didi also slammed the Congress for theirsilence on the massacre of Bengali speaking people in Assam. She said she willextend all help to the refugees from Assam.

Excerptsfrom the Chairperson`s speech:

When Trinamool was formed in 1998, 7 MPswere elected from Bengal. Ranaghat was one of them. You are like our mother. Severalpolitical parties are only using malicious campaigns against us. They cannotcounter us politically. Some parties want to divide Bengalis and non Bengalis. They want to divide Hindus and Muslims.

CPI(M) has won one election after anotherby rigging the polls. We have struggled a lot against the atrocities of theLeft. CPI(M) is now joined by Congress and BJP. They have formed a nexusagainst us. The CPI(M) is spreading lies. They are saying women are not safe inBengal. This is completely baseless. BJP and Congress speak in the same voiceas the CPI(M). Even some media houses have joined them.

Some media houses have become the HisMaster`s Voice of the BJP. BJP leaders have suddenly started visiting Bengaljust before the elections. BJP is being hyped by the media. This is like a hotair balloon. Comrade Modiji says he will throw all Bengalis from India. Hethinks he has already become the PM. Announcing a PM candidate is like fixingthe date of marriage of a baby even before it is born.

They do not know the history of Bengal. That is why they want to throw Bengalis out of India. Bengalis came to Indiafrom Bangladesh in 1971. This is legal. We will not allow them to touch evenone Bengali. We are not afraid of violence. We will fight for Bengal. Had itnot been for us, the Left could not have been defeated.

Bengali speaking tribals and minorities arebeing butchered in Assam. What is the Congress Govt doing? Delhi has turned ablind eye to the violence in Assam. We have said we are ready to give shelterto the refugees. Last year too we gave shelter to the refugees who came fromAssam after riots. I am sad, pained and shocked at the massacre of Bengalispeaking people in Assam. Even children are not spared. They are killing littlechildren. This has to stop. One cannot use violence to come to power. We do notsupport riots.

The Left only raises the bogey of Saradha.Who was in power when chit funds were started in Bengal in 1980s? We haveformed a judicial commission to probe the Saradha case. We are returning moneyto all investors. Chit fund law is the subject of the Centre. They are sittingon the Bill sent by us to combat chit funds. Why did the Centre not act againstchit funds till now? When NDA was in power, why did the BJP not act?

The hot air balloon of the BJP has burst. He is just a marketing product. People can see through their lies. CPI(M) tookmoney from Saradha to publish ads in their mouthpiece. Even several mediahouses attacking us on Saradha have benefited from chit funds. Empty vesselssound much.

We have lost a lot of valuable time due tothe code of conduct. Development work has been hampered. We are working on theground for the people while some leaders are busy making appearances on TV studios.I am not arrogant like the Left. People are my assets. Their love motivates meto keep working. CPI(M) has formed a secret understanding with the BJP andCongress to try and defeat us.

CPI(M) incurred debts. They killed 55000people during their tenure. People have not forgotten the atrocities. We arepaying for the debts incurred by the Left. The Centre is taking away a majorshare of our revenue. Why did the Congress and BJP allow the CPI(M) to borrowmoney when they were in power at the Centre. We have increased our revenue fromRs 21000 crore to Rs 40000 crore. Centre is taking away all the money. Where willthe money for building schools and roads come from? Despite the financialcrunch, we are No. 1 in many sectors.

The Opposition talks about crimes againstwomen. During Left Front rule, even FIRs were not lodged. Women can freely andfearlessly report crimes now. CPI(M) has sold its ideology to the BJP.

The growth in revenue earning in Gujarat is15%. In Bengal it is 31%. In 100-Days Work Scheme, Gujarat spent only Rs 500crore. We spent Rs 5500 crore. Bengal is No. 1 in 100-Days Work Scheme. Butmedia never highlights this. The infant mortality rate in Gujarat is 42 per1000 births. In Bengal it is 32. Maternal mortality rate is also higher inGujarat. They only make speeches. Their actions expose their lies.

This is the fight against the financialdeprivation of Bengal by the Centre. This is the fight against the maliciouscampaigns of the CPI(M). This is a fight against the divisive politics of theBJP. We do not want any financial package. We just want the Centre to stop taking away our money.

We have started several initiatives forNadia district. We have set up several colleges in this district. Our aim is tobuild a better future for the youth. We have fulfilled the Sachar Committeerecommendations for minorities. We believe in Sarva Dharma Samanyay. We celebrate Durga Puja, Eid, Guru Parab aswell as Christmas. If even one person in Bengal is touched, we will protest inDelhi. Make sure such divisive parties never come to power.

WB CM expresses her shock over the violence in Assam

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. MamataBanerjee today expressed her sadness, shock and grief over the massacre ofBengali speaking minorities and tribal brothers and sisters in Assam.

Speaking at a rally in Nadia district, shesaid, “Bengali speaking tribals and minorities are being butchered in Assam. What is the Congress Govt doing? Delhi has turned a blind eye to the violencein Assam. We have said we are ready to give shelter to the refugees. Last yeartoo we gave shelter to the refugees who came from Assam after riots.”

She added, “I am sad, pained and shocked atthe massacre of Bengali speaking people in Assam. Even children are not spared. They are killing little children. This has to stop. One cannot use violence tocome to power. We do not support riots.”

The Chief Minister also expressed her shockin a post on the social networking site Facebook:

I am very shocked about the recent incidentof violence in Assam where innocent Bengali speaking minority and tribalbrothers and sisters are being brutally murdered. This is most unfortunate.

Lok Sabha election in Assam is over, butthe election process is still continuing in various other parts of the country.Certain comments of some political parties including the aspirant of Highoffice are adding fuel. Their language must be controlled and they should notplay politics with fire where innocent lives are involved.

We are worried as Assam is our borderstate. We had extended support and shelter to the affected people in the past.On humanitarian considerations, our doors are open for help to the affectedpersons even now.

Why the Government of Assam and the UnionGovernment are silent?

Why no action is being taken by thestatutory authorities like National Human Rights Commission, MinoritiesCommission Tribal Commission etc.?

I urge the Government and other politicalparties concerned to ensure that atrocities and violence are immediatelystopped.

We condemn such incidents of atrocities andviolence.

It is a shame.. shame.. shame.

Why shouldn’t people, who make hate speeches and incite violence, be arrested?: Didi at Krishnanagar

Trinamool Chairperson today addressed arally at Krishnanagar in support of the party candidate Tapas Pal. She slammedthe BJP for their divisive politics. She demanded to know why shouldn`t theperson who practices communal politics and makes hate speeches, which led tothe death of innocents in Assam, be arrested? She said she will extend all helpto the refugees from Assam.

Excerpts from the Chairperson`s speech:

BJP stands for commuanl ideology. They wantto divide Bengalis and non Bengalis, Hindus and Muslims. If people speak inBangla, they are branded as Bangladeshi immigrants. BJP is ignorant of the history and geography of Bengal. If even oneperson in Bengal – be it Hindu or Muslim, male or female – is touched, we willtake action. UP, BIhar, Odisha, Jharkhand – people from all States arewelcome to stay in Bengal. They are all citzens of Bengal. Who is he to packoff people from Bengal? His arrogance is showing.

Has the Congress and CPI(M) protestedagainst the threats to throw Bengalis out of India? CPI(M) has sold itself tothe BJP. Riots will not be allowed in Bengal. There is a UN convention that allows States to give shelter to therefugees from neighbouring States. There is widespread violence in Assam. Theywant to divide Bengal for votes. They should feel ashamed of themselves.

We love Gujaratis. We do not support theman whose hands are stained with the blood of riots. From head to toe, he is stained with blood of innocent people. IndianConstitution is secular. A man with a history of riots can never be the PM.Our political career is full of struggle. Their political career is full ofriots. Some media houses are inciting violence in Bengal. They have soldthemselves to the BJP.

When the British tried to divide Bengal,Rabindranath started rakhee festivalto unite Hindus and Muslims. They threaten to send away the refugees who cameto India in 1971. Refugees from EastBengal stay in India as per Nehru-Liyaqat and Indira-Mujib treaties. People ofall faith, caste, creed live peacefully in Bengal. We have raised theslogan: Hare Krishna Hare Hare, TrinamoolCongress Ghore, Ghore. Why shouldn`t the person who practices communalpolitics and makes hate speeches, which led to the death of innocents in Assam,be arrested?

Instead of countering us on political anddevelopment issues, they are indulging in malicious campaigns. Infant mortalityrate in Bengal is lower than Gujarat. Growthin revenue earning in Gujarat is 15%. Ours is 31%. We have spent Rs 5500 crorefor 100-Days Work Scheme. They spent only Rs 500 crore. Bengal has startedfair price medicine shops, not Gujarat. They are national models now. Peace hasreturned to Jangalmahal. It is also a national model. Nadia district isperforming well in the implementation of projects.

Ihave conducted 54 administrative meetings at block level. The Secretariat comesto the people in districts now. People do not have to travel to Kolkata. Growth in bank lending in MSME sector was 50% in Gujarat while itwas 106% in Bengal. We have set up fast-track courts in Bengal. Prompt actionis taken for crimes against women.

The Opposition keeps cribbing aboutSaradha. Who was in power in Bengal whenchit funds were set up in 1980s? Saradha was set up in Bengal in 2006. Who wasthe CM back then? They raise the issue of Saradha only during elections. Thepower to deal with chit funds lies with the Centre not the State Govt. Weprepared a Bill to counter chit funds, and they are sitting on it for monthsnow. We have formed a Judicial Commission, arrested the owner of Saradha fromKashmir. The CPI(M) received a lot of money from Saradha in the form of ads. Chorer mayer boro gola.

Some people are demanding CBI probe inSaradha issue. Is CBI God? What actionhave they taken in Chhota Angariya and Netai massacres? CBI has failed todeliver justice to the victims of Nandigram carnage. CBI also failed toretrieve the lost Nobel medallion of Rabindranath. It is a matter of shame.

CPM is indulging in malicious campaigns.Congress stands for corruption. BJP is full of hateful divisive ideology. For afew votes these people want to incite violence and pit one community againstanother. If they stoke fire in Bengal, we will not sit silently. Law will takeits own course. Whether we get votes ornot, I will never allow Bengal to be divided. Those who want to divide peopleare cowards. The CPI(M)-Congress-BJP want to play got-up matches. I willbuild Trinamool Congress as a national party so that Congress and BJP can nolonger take people for a ride. Bengal will lead the future of India.

Politics stands for sacrifice, progress, andstruggle. Politics does not stand for violence, bloodshed and riots. We havenot forgotten the atrocities committed on people during Left Front rule. We raised the slogan bodla noy bodol chai (change not revenge) in 2011. Politicalviolence has come down in Bengal. In the last 3 years I have visitedJangalamhal 35 times, Darjeeling 40 times.

Under Left Front rule, more than 3 croremandays were lost in Bengal. The number has come down to 0. We have distributedcycles to 2.5 lakh girls. We have distributed 28 lakh Kisan credit cards tofarmers. We have started Kanyashreescheme to encourage girls to pursue education. UNICEF wants to be our partner in implementing Kanyashree scheme. We have started Yuvashree scheme. One lakh youth can register their names inthe Employment Bank. We have recruited one lakh civic police personnel. We arecarrying out all these initiatives despite the financial crunch. Had the Centrenot taken away our money, we could have generated 20 lakh more jobs.

Nazrul Islam did not get his due creditunder the Left regime. We have formed a Nazrul Academy. We have named Andalairport after him. We respect Bengal`sculture. We salute the pluralistic heritage of the State. We have started Banga Bibhushan awards to honour theicons of Bengal.

The Left set up only 1 university in 34years. We have set up 8 new universities in two and half years. The Left set up3 Government colleges in 34 years. We have set up 31 colleges in two and halfyears. We have introduced Right toPublic Services Act. People get Government services in a time bound manner now.We are setting up 34 multi super speciality hospitals in Bengal. The Left setup only 6 SNCUs in 34 years. In two and half years we have set up 256 SNCUs. TheLeft distributed only 12000 land pattasin 2009-10. We have distributed 2 lakh land pattasin two and half years.

Aslong as I am alive, I will work for the Ma,Mati, Manush of Bengal. The paper tigers should know that people of Bengalare like Royal Bengal Tiger. Ensure that the BJPloses its deposit and never dares to divide the people of Bengal. We promise towork for the people, continue the surge of development.

We always talk of communal harmony. Wenever discriminate between people. People of Bengal do not want riots. Theyouth of Bengal want peace and progress.

She paid tributes to the martyrs of Nandigram carnage. She slammed the CBI for failing to deliver justice to the victims of violence in Nandigram and Netai.

She also slammed the BJP for trying to play divisive politics in Bengal. She said she will not sit silently if even one Bengali was harmed. She called for an end to the branding of Bengali speaking people as illegal Bangladeshis.

Excerpts from the Chairperson’s speech:

I pay my respects to the families of allthe martyrs. I salute those who participated in land movement. I am here tocampaign for Sisir Adhikary (Kanthi) and Subhendu Adhikary (Tamluk). We havetaken several initiatives for the development of this region. We have repairedthe roads here. I started many projects as Railway Minister. We have formed aHealth District in Nandigram.

We are setting up an Industry cluster,ITIs, polytechnic colleges, Kisan Bazars in this district. We have taken stepsto supply drinking water to the people. We have asked IIT Kharagpur to preparea survey report for the development projects in this area.

People of Nandigram fought valiantly duringthe land movement. I salute the martyrs of Netai, Nandigram and Singur. CBI hasfailed to deliver justice to the people of Nandigram, Netai. Many people arestill missing in Nandigram. If CBI fails to deliver, we will carry out theinvestigation. Tapasi Malik`s rapist and murderer was called “party`sasset” by the Left. 45000 false cases were lodged against the people ofNandigram during land movement. Haldi river is a mute witness of the crimescommitted in Nandigram.

Certain media houses have become the dalal of the Left. Congress-CPI(M)-BJPhave formed a mahajot against us.According to me it is an unholy nexus. We are not afraid of Delhi. We willfight for our rights. We increased our revenue from Rs 21000 crore to Rs 40000crore. The Centre took away major part of our taxes.

We are setting up a college for girls atTamluk, named after Shahid Matangini Hazra. We have upgraded hospitals. We areworking for development of Bengal, despite financial crunch. We ask people forvotes to make us win. The Opposition wants people`s votes to see us lose. Onthe day of results, it will be clear that people of Bengal are with Trinamool. TheOpposition has no political issues to counter us. So, they are hatchingmalicious campaigns.

We have given 50% reservation to women atPanchayat level. We have given reservation to minorities. We give rice at Rs 2per kilo to 3.2 crore people. Tribal people can obtain caste certificateswithin a month now. We have launched Kanyashree scheme for girls. They will getfinancial assistance to pursue education. 9 lakh girls have already beenregistered under Kanyashree scheme. UNICEF has decided to partner with us toimplement the Kanyashree scheme.

West Bengal was ranked 18 among statesearlier in 100-Days Job Scheme. Now we are No. 1. People from districts neednot come to Kolkata anymore. Secretariat goes to the districts from Kolkata. Ihave held several administrative meetings in the districts to oversee theimplementation of projects.

The media speaks highly of only those whohave money power. The BJP wants to divide the people of Bengal on the basis ofreligion and ethnicity. BJP wants to throw the refugees of 1971 out of India. How can they say something like that? If even one Bengali is touched, we will not sit silently. People who speak in Bangla are quickly branded as illegal Bangladeshis. We must protest against such branding. The BJP will have to faceRoyal Bengal Tiger in Bengal. We are not paper tigers. Refugees are living inIndia as per Nehru-Liyaqat treaty and Indira-Mujib agreement.

Announcing a PM candidate is like fixingthe date of marriage of a baby even before it is born. People`s support is withus. It is a stronger weapon than a thousand guns.

CPI(M) incurred debt and now we are payingfor their sins. The Centre must stop taking away our money. We have recruited40000 constables. We have recruited 1.3 lakh civic police personnel. In two andhalf years we have created more than one lakh ponds. Our 5-year target was 50000.Divisive politics will not be be allowed in Bengal.

Hindus and Muslims, Bengalis and nonBengalis stay in harmony in Bengal. They can never be divided. Bengal will leadthe way for India in future. Trinamool will emerge as the third largest partyafter elections. We will emerge as a national party very soon.

Trinamool candidate list represents the entire society: Trinamool Chairperson at Diamond Harbour

Trinamool Chairperson today addressed two rallies in the Diamond Harbour constituency in support of the party candidate Abhishek Banerjee. She spoke at length about the choice of party candidates. She said that the list of candidates represented the entire society.

Excerpts from the Chairperson`s speech:

We have fielded several women candidatesfor Lok Sabha polls. There are several doctors and doctorates among ourcandidates this time. We have given ticket to a lot of young people. We havetried to balance youth and experience in our list of candidates. I supportthose who work on ground for the people. I do not support people who are bornwith a golden spoon in their mouth.

The previous MP from Diamond Harbour hasnot worked for the people. I am sorry for that. I am sure that Abhishek willwork for the people once elected from here. Abhishek has an identity of hisown. He has worked for the people. We have to create a new generation ofpoliticians who can work for the people in future. Trinamool thinks about thefuture. We are focused on how to make the future better.

We will never, ever form an alliance with the BJP: Didi at Shyambazar

Trinamool Chairperson Ms. Mamata Banerjee today addressed a rally at Shyambazar in support of the party candidate for North Kolkata, Sudip Bandyopadhyay. During her speech she said that there was no question of forming an alliance with the BJP that wants to divide the people of the State.

Excerpts from the Chairperson`s speech:

We have been campaigning despite the heat. The heat is unbearable at places like Bankura and Purulia. The Opposition hasgiven up courtesies during the election campaign. Malicious lies are beingpeddled as truth. They are using bad language against us, but we are notretaliating.

Some media houses think they can controlthe Government. We are the Government of the people. People will control us. Wecannot run the Government and fix our political agenda based on the wishes ofmedia houses. Let the media houses pursuing political agenda fight electionsand form a Government.

In the last three years when we were inpower, we have lost valuable time due to elections and code of conduct. In sucha short time, we have been able to change Kolkata for the better. We have madethe roads cleaner, beautified the Ganga ghats. We have set up an eco tourismpark at Rajarhat. A wax museum is coming up at Rajarhat. The Centre has taken amajor share of our revenue. Did CPI(M)-BJP-Congress protest?

The Opposition can only share gyan on TV studios. They do not work onthe ground for people. CPI(M) has left the State in huge debt. How will werepay such a huge amount? We increased our revenue from Rs 21000 crore to Rs40000 crore. But the Centre took away our money. Did the Centre ever think howwe will make our ends meet if they take away all our money?

We have increased our revenue byintroducing e-governance methods. We registered the highest growth in revenuein India. But the media did not highlight the achievement. We have increasedour revenues without imposing any taxes on the people. How will we paysalaries, build schools, generate jobs if the Centre takes away all our money. ThePrime Minister promised to help us with debt restructuring at a public rally inDumdum. He did not keep his promise. Our MPs have been vocal about the State`srights in the Parliament. Where were the Left, Congress and BJP MPs.  Mr Chidamabaram said they cannot give anyfinancial package to Bengal.

Some parties want to incite riots in Bengaland divide people based on religion and language. People of UP and Bihar wholive in Bengal are as much part of the State as any Bengali-speaking person. Wedo not play politics of division. We care for people irrespective of theirreligion, caste or creed. We will never, ever have an alliance with BJP.Congress, BJP and CPM have formed a nexus in Bengal to try and fight us.

I will be happy if the Opposition indulgesin positive criticism and counters us politically. We are ready for a dialogueis Opposition questions us on policy. We won`t tolerate malicious campaigns. RBIhad alerted the WB Govt way back in 1986 about chit funds. Who was in powerthen? We passed a Bill against chit funds in the Assembly. The Centre isdelaying the Presidential assent.

Some people make baseless allegations andget media coverage. But if SIT takes an action based on evidence, media criesfoul. These media houses took ads worth lakhs and crores from Saradha. CPI(M)published ads of Saradha in their mouthpiece. What has the CBI done in TapasiMalik`s rape and murder case? What about the massacre in Nandigram. CBI failedto nab the accused in Netai case. Our CID went and captured them from Hyderabad.CBI even failed to retrieve the stolen Nobel medallion of Rabindranath Tagore.

We raised the slogan bodla noy, bodol chai(change not revenge). We have maintained that. Where was the media when oursupporters were tortured for putting up posters under Left rule? We have notforgotten how the wrists of people were chopped off for not voting for the Left. The Left even burnt Anandamargis alive in broad daylight. How can theperpetrators of such heinous crimes give us gyanon law and order? We have set up fast-track courts. We want speedy justice incase of crimes against women.

Gujarat is a smaller State. They have lesspopulation. They cannot be compared with Bengal. In 100-Days Job Scheme we havespent Rs 5500 crore for job generation. Gujarat spent only Rs 500 crore. Infantmortality in Gujarat is 42 per 1000 births. In Bengal it is 31. More number ofhouseholds in Bengal get drinking water compared to Gujarat.

The Left Front Government set up only SNCUsin 34 years. We have set up 256 SNCUs in two and half years. During Left Frontrule even fish had to be imported. Now we have started pisciculture in theState. We have started a Hilsa Research Centre at Diamond Harbour. Even onionshad to be imported from other States earlier.

We are setting up Kisan Bazars, coldstorages, marketing hubs. We are setting up ITIs in every block and polytechniccolleges in every sub-division. In 34 years, the Left set up only 1 university. We have set up 8 new universities in two and half years. We have set up 31 newcolleges. The Left Front Government set up only three. When I was RailwayMinister I started metro network covering the entire city. Work has beenstalled after we Left UPA.

We have named the airport coming up atAndal after Nazrul Islam. We have taken many new initiatives to boost tourismin North Bengal. Political killings have come down in the State. This is amatter of pride. Jangalmahal is smiling. Darjeeling is smiling and theOpposition is cribbing.

We have also set up the first-ever cordblood bank in Bengal. We have also started a breast milk bank. This will help alot of mothers and babies. Children with heart diseases can get surgeries forfree. We have set up fair price medicine shops and diagnostic centres. Poorpeople can get medicines for free from rural health centres.

Kanyashree scheme has been launched for theupliftment of girls. 9 lakh girls have already been enrolled. Jangalmahal is amodel. Darjeeling is a model. Fair price medicines shops are a model.

We will emerge as the third largest partyin India. We will build Trinamool as a national party. Our fight is against thefinancial deprivation of Bengal by the Centre. This fight is against themalicious campaign by the Opposition.

She asked everyone to vote for peace and prosperity and shun the politics of violence of the Left.

Excerpts from the Chairperson`s speech:

I welcome all my brothers and sisters andthank you all for coming to this rally despite the heat. Our candidate for Jhargramis Dr Uma Soren. She works for the tribal people here. I have come to knowthere are many talented doctors from tribal community here. I am very proud ofyou.

There has been a reign of terror inBelpahari region. Jangalmahal has seen enough violence. Blood of innocents havebeen shed in Jangalmahal. Women were afraid of coming out of their homes. Studentscould not go to schools. Dead bodies of many of those who were slaughtered inJangalmahal, have not been recovered.

I am proud to say that peace prevails inJangalmahal now. I have come to Jangalmahal several times in the last threeyears, despite threats to my life. .People who have never visited Jangalmahal are now visiting the State beforeelections. People with vested political interests want to disturb the peace inJangalmahal and Darjeeling. We are not weak like the Left Front Government. Wewill not allow any sabotage of peace in Jangalmahal.

Earlier women could not even registercomplaints for the crimes committed against them. Situation has changed now.Jangalmahal is a model of peace. From 500-700 deaths per year due to violence, the figure has come down to zero. We love our tribal brothers and sisters. Wehave given recognition to Al Chiki. We have introduced reservation forbackward classes and minorities.

Trinamool Congress has given tickets to alot of young candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. There are senior leadersto guide the new entrants in politics. We are setting up 6 multi superspecialty hospitals, ITIs, polytechnic colleges. We are building roads. Earlierpeople in Amlasole had no food to eat. Eggs of ants and roots of plants were eatenby the locals for their meals. Now we provide rice at Rs 2/kg to the people.3.2 crore people in Bengal receive rice and other foodgrains at subsidized prices.Despite all our initiatives, some people fail to see the surge of development. We take prompt action if crimes against women are committed. We want allrapists to be hanged.

A private news channel is peddling lies. They are showing paid news. I challenge them to contest elections and form theGovernment. Let us see how they fare. Media houses have a right to pursue theiragenda. But Government cannot run according to their wishes. The CBI was incharge of Netai case. They failed to nab a single accused. Our police capturedthe culprits from another state. CBI has failed to retrieve RabindranathTagore`s Nobel Prize medal. Some newspapers have become the dalal of theLeft.

We are setting up 9 government colleges inthis district. We have started Kanyashree scheme. Girls will get financialassistance to pursue education. We have started an employment bank. We areencouraging the youth to participate in sports. The media should fight for thesake of the State. But in Bengal, some sections of the media only criticize theState. Some people are jobless and are engaged in malicious campaigns againstus. We are seeking your vote for peace, progress and development.

Had the Centre not taken away our money, wecould have generated 20 lakh more jobs. Your vote will strengthen our voice atCentre so that we can fight for our rights. People have not forgotten howCPI(M) used muscle power and violence to rule in Bengal. Ensure that CPI(M)never comes back to power. Do not vote for their friends in the Congress andBJP. How many times have the CPI(M), Congress and BJP leaders visited Jhargram?I have visited Jangalmahal 35 times and Darjeeling 40 times. I am always withyou. Give a fitting reply to the Opposition for their malicious campaignthrough ballots.
