The West Bengal Government hosted a state reception in honour of the Hon’ble President of India at the Darjeeling Mall today.

The Hon’ble President of India reached Darjeeling today and was received by West Bengal Governor and the Chief Minister. He will be staying there till July 15.

While felicitating the President, WB CM chose to refer to him as ‘Pranab Da’ and wished for his long and healthy life. She said that Pranab ‘Da’ has strong ties with Bengal.

“The Hon. President of India is here in Hills. It is a proud moment for us,” the Chief Minister added.

Tomorrow, the Hon’ble President of India and the West Bnegal Chief Minister will be attending the birth anniversary celebrations of Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya and later the state government will also host a dinner in his honour.

The Hon’ble President of India will also address the annual general meeting of Darjeeling Tea Association on July 14, in presence of the Chief Minister.

আজ মাননীয়া রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায়কে রাষ্ট্রীয় অভ্যর্থনা জ্ঞাপন করার জন্য একটি অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেছিল পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার। অনুষ্ঠানটি হয় দার্জিলিঙের ম্যালে।

রাষ্ট্রপতি প্রণব মুখোপাধ্যায় আজ দার্জিলিঙে পৌঁছনোর পর তাকে অভ্যর্থনা জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এবং মাননীয় রাজ্যপাল।

সম্বর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন যে রাষ্ট্রপতি দার্জিলিঙে আসাটা গর্বের ব্যাপার। তিনি আরো বলেন যে বাংলার মাটির সাথে ওনার নিবীড় টান।

আগামীকাল কবি ভানু ভক্ত-র জন্মদিন৷ এই উপলক্ষে দার্জিলিংয়ের ম্যালে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে রাষ্ট্রপতি ও মুখ্যমন্ত্রী উপস্থিত থাকবেন।

আগামী ১৪ জুলাই  দার্জিলিং টি-অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উপস্থিতিতে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসাবে যোগ দেবেন রাষ্ট্রপতি৷

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee received a rousing welcome in the Hills during her first visit to Darjeeling as Chief Minister for the second term.

The Chief Minister reached Darjeeling on Monday afternoon. Thousands of people gathered outside Bagdogra Airport to receive her. Representatives of the development boards in the hills felicitated her with khadi and bouquet of flowers at the airport.

There was not enough space for the Chief Minister’s car to move out of the airport as the area was crowded with people waiting to get a glimpse of the Chief Minister.

They even formed a human chain from Simulbari in Siliguri. People were seen standing on both sides of the road when the Chief Minister’s car was heading towards Darjeeling. Hundreds of people were shouting slogans to congratulate Didi as she waved at them.

On her way to Darjeeling, she had to take several stoppages as people felicitated her with khadi uttarios.

দ্বিতীয়বার ক্ষমতায় আসার পর প্রথমবার দার্জিলিং সফরে গিয়ে অভ্যর্থনায় ভাসলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে বরণ করে নিল পাহাড়৷ পাহাড়জুড়ে রীতিমতো উৎসবের মেজাজ৷ পাহাড়ি পথের বাঁকে তোরণ, মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে পাহাড়ে স্বাগত জানাতে ৬০ কিলোমিটার রাস্তাজুড়ে ছিল মানব-বন্ধন৷ রোহিণী বাজার থেকে দার্জিলিং পর্যন্ত পাহাড়ি রাস্তায় দিদিকে ঘিরে মানুষের উন্মাদনা ছিল দেখার মত৷

তৃণমূলের তরফেও দার্জিলিংয়ের পথে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে বিপুল অভ্যর্থনা জানানোর প্রস্তুতি নেওয়া হয়েছিল৷ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে স্বাগত জানাতে হাজির ছিলেন  পাহাড়ের বিভিন্ন উন্নয়ন বোর্ডের সদস্যরাও৷

আজ, ১২ জুলাই, দার্জিলিং-এর চৌরাস্তায় রাষ্ট্রপতি শ্রী প্রণব মুখার্জিকে সংবর্ধনা দেবে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার।

People travelling to north Bengal from the city along the NH-34 will now have the option to stop over and take rest at government motels. The public works department (PWD) has developed four highway motels along NH-34 under the ‘Pather Sathi’ project.

These motels will provide food, internet facilities and clean toilet to travellers. The motels have been set up at Krishnagar, Shantipur, Ghatigachha in Ranaghat and De bagram in Kaliganj .

The motels will have stalls that will showcase Nadia handicrafts like idols of Ghurni, ‘tant’ saree of Fulia and sweets of Krishnagar.

The PWD authorities will hand over the motels to Nadia administration soon.

 

যাত্রী সুবিধার্থে তৈরি হল নতুন মোটেল

এখন ৩৪ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়ক দিয়ে শহর থেকে উত্তরবঙ্গ যাওয়ার পথে যাত্রীরা এখন বিশ্রাম নিতে পারবেন সরকারী মোটেলে। ‘পথের সাথী’ প্রকল্পের আওতায় ৩৪ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কে ৪টি হাইওয়ে মোটেল তৈরি করা হয়েছে।

এই মোটেল গুলির মাধ্যমে খাবার, ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবা, পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন টয়লেট ইত্যাদি পরিষেবা দেওয়া হবে। কৃষ্ণনগর, শান্তিপুর, ঘাটিগাছা, রানাঘাট,দেবগ্রাম ও কালীগঞ্জে মোটেল স্থাপন করা হয়েছে।

মোটেলে কতগুলিতে জেলার বিভিন্ন হস্তশিল্প যেমন ঘূর্ণি, ফুলিয়ার তাঁতের শাড়ি, কৃষ্ণনগরের মিষ্টি ইত্যাদির স্টল থাকবে।

পূর্ত বিভাগের কর্তৃপক্ষ খুব শীঘ্রই নদীয়া প্রশাসনের হাতে মোটেল হস্তান্তর করবে।

Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Nadia, stress is being given on quality production of gerbera flowers and capsicum in shed-net houses and poly-houses through horticulture.

From the last financial year, Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme helped construction of poly-houses in seven organic villages.

These structures are used for better quality products, higher productivity, off-season cultivation, better insect and disease control and reduced use of pesticides, nursery raising, hardening of crops, efficient use of resources, high-value crop production and more profits etc.

গত আর্থিক বছর থেকে, মহাত্মা গান্ধী ন্যাশনাল রুরাল এমপ্লয়মেন্ট গ্যারান্টি প্রকল্প  সাতটি জৈব গ্রামে পলি-ঘর নির্মাণ করতে সাহায্য করেছে।

উন্নত মানের পণ্য, উচ্চ উত্পাদনশীলতা, অফ সিজনে চাষবাস, পোকা ও রোগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ, কীটনাশকের ব্যবহার কমানো, উচ্চ মান ফসল উৎপাদন ও আরো লাভ ইত্যাদির জন্য এই কাঠামো ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Thousands of patients have been given free eye surgeries at various state-run medical colleges and hospitals, after the state government took a significant decision to bring eye surgeries under the coverage of the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY).

For a long time, below poverty line (BPL) patients requiring eye surgeries could not avail benefits under the RSBY. As a result, many suffering various eye diseases were seriously inconvenienced and could not manage the cost of the operation.

Keeping the problem in view, the state government decided to take up initiatives so that eye surgeries can be brought under the coverage of the RSBY.

The state government’s move started paying off as thousands of poor patients are now availing eye treatment and surgeries free of any cost at the government hospitals.

Earlier, in case of eye surgeries, patients could not avail insurance coverage under the RSBY. But now, delicate operations like phacoemulsification, cataract and other eye surgeries are being done for patients for free. As a result of the coverage plan, all patients can get the free surgeries from the government hospitals empanelled with the RSBY.

 

রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্যোগে বাংলায় রোগীরা বিনামূল্যে চোখ অপারেশনের সুযোগ পাচ্ছেন

রাজ্য সরকার চোখ অপারেশনকে রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বাস্থ্য বীমা যোজনা (RSBY) আওতায় নিয়ে আসার মত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। এর ফলে হাজার হাজার রোগী রাজ্যের মেডিকেল কলেজ ও হাসপাতালে বিনামূল্যে চোখ অপারেশন করানোর সুযোগ পাবেন।

অনেক দিন ধরে, দারিদ্র্যসীমার নিচে (বিপিএল) বসবাসকারী রোগী যাদের চোখ অপারেশন করা প্রয়োজন রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বাস্থ্য বীমা যোজনার আওতায় কোন রকম উপকার পেতেন না। ফলস্বরূপ, অনেকে বিভিন্নরকম চোখের সমস্যায় ভুগছিলেন এবং অপারেশন খরচ বহন করতে পারছিলেন না।

এই সমস্যার কথা মাথায় রেখে চোখ সার্জারি যাতে রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বাস্থ্য বীমা যোজনার (RSBY) আওতায় আনা যেতে পারে রাজ্য সরকার এই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে।

রাজ্য সরকারের এই অভিনব পদক্ষেপ নেওয়ার ফলে হাজার হাজার দরিদ্র রোগী সরকারি হাসপাতালে বিনামূল্যে চক্ষু চিকিত্সা এবং সার্জারী করাতে পারবেন।

এর আগে, চোখের সার্জারির ক্ষেত্রে, রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বাস্থ্য বীমা যোজনার অধীনে কোনরকম সহায়তা পেতেন না রোগীরা। কিন্তু এখন, বিভিন্ন সূক্ষ্ম অপারেশন যেমন phacoemulsification, ছানি এবং অন্যান্য চক্ষু সার্জারী মত অপারেশন রোগীদের জন্য বিনামূল্যে করা হচ্ছে। এই পরিকল্পনার ফলস্বরূপ, রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বাস্থ্য বীমা যোজনার সহায়তায় সব রোগীরা সরকারি হাসপাতাল থেকে বিনামূল্যে সার্জারি করাতে পারবেন।

Lashing out at the Centre over its excessive interference that was affecting the federal structure, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that the Motor Vehicle Act does not give provision to deal with every traffic problem in the state.

She said Bengal, and other States, should have their own Act and frame rules and regulations to deal with the traffic problem.

“Motor vehicle laws are framed by the Centre. I believe that states must also have the power to make such laws. We will raise the issue of road safety in Parliament… We will not allow interference in the federal structure. I think states must have an Act,” she said.

The Chief Minister maintained, “We always appreciate good work. But excessive interference would affect the federal structure. Implementation of cess is a new technique to raise money. Money is being collected by implementing the higher rates of cess but the state government is getting nothing.”

West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission (WBERC) on Friday signed an MoU with Korean power company, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), to conduct a feasibility study to reduce transmission and distribution (T&D) loss among power distribution companies in the state.

The MoU was signed between WBERC Secretary JC Chakraborty and KEPCO General Manager Moon Taeok, in presence of state Power Minister Shobhandeb Chatterjee.

Chatterjee said KEPCO will submit its report in a month, based on which a roadmap will be prepared. He added, “we can keep tariff low if this loss is managed properly”.

KEPCO will carry out a research on the distribution facilities and inform WBERC of the results, including the actual reasons.

The state transport minister Suvendu Adhikari has proposed to initiate the state-wide drive “no helmet, no petrol” to bring down the rate of accidents.

He said that he would propose to introduce a system following discussion with petroleum dealers that they will not give petrol if a person comes to refill his or her two-wheeler without putting on a helmet. He placed his proposal before the Chief Minister.

He said that the awareness of people is necessary to bring a change in the scenario and make the attempts of the government, a successful one.

In a bid to bring down the rash driving among public buses, the minister said rationalisation of routes would be undertaken and racing between the buses to get more passengers will be curbed once the rationalisation process is over.

He said that the Chief Minister has already completed the main task to ensure better traffic movement in the past five years by constructing smooth roads. “Now our next task is to make the “Safe Drive Save Life” campaign successful to ensure that road accidents come down,” he added.
