WB CM to visit Bangladesh today to attend ‘Bhasha Dibas’

WB CM Ms Mamata Banerjee will be leaving for Bangladesh today to attend the “Bhasa Divas” celebration at Dhaka on February, 21.

She will be accompanied by a team of Ministers, MPs, bureaucrats, industrialists and distinguished personalities from the cultural world. She has been invited as the Chief Guest for the celebration of “Bhasa Divas” at the Central Shaheed Minar, Dhaka to pay homage to the martyrs of the language movement.

WB CM Ms Mamata Banerjee is expected to attend a business meet organised by the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Indian Chambers of Commerce, Kolkata.

While addressing the media regarding her visit, WB CM said that she hoped this visit will strengthen the ties between Bangladesh and West Bengal. “There should be stronger cultural ties between the two Bengals. Hope this trip will make our bond stronger,” she added.

WB CM also said that the State Government will build a replica of the Bhasha Shahid Smarak in Kolkata near Birla Planetorium. The foundation stone will be laid today.
