WB CM pays tribute at INA Memorial in Singapore

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms MamataBanerjee paid tribute at the Indian National Army (INA) Memorial, memorial at EsplanadePark, Singapore on Monday. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had laid the foundationstone on July 8, 1945, a few months before Singapore was recaptured by theBritish.
Located within the Esplanade Park, theIndian National Army Monument was erected in 1995 to commemorate the 50thanniversary of the end of World War II and is one of the 11 World War II sitesmarked to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the end of WWII.
The World War II plaque marks the site ofthe Indian National Army memorial which was destroyed after the war, and isdedicated to an unknown soldier of the Indian National Army during the JapaneseOccupation.
After paying tributes at the IndianNational Army Memorial, the Chief Minister visited the Jurong Bird Park and theRamakrishna Mission in Singapore.
