WB CM inaugurates Jangalmahal Utsav

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee on her visit to Paschim Medinipur, distributed prizes to the winners of the Jangalmahal Cup football tournament at a programme organized by the state police at Medinipur College Ground.
She had reached Medinipur on Sunday night.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the first edition of the Jangalmahal Utsab, being held in Jhargram, through remote control.
The Jangalmahal Utsab is being held from December 29 to 31, 2014.
Four hundred and eighty cultural groups from the 24 blocks of Jangalmahal will be presented with Dhamsha and Madol.
The football tournament, the Jangalmahal Cup was organized among the five police districts – Paschim Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum and Jhargram.
In her brief speech, the Chief Minister thanked the people of Jangalmahal for their support in bringing peace. She announced that six hundred police stations in the state will be given a grant of Rs 1 lakh each for development of sports.
The Chief Minister also informed that the Vivek Utsav, in honour of the birth anniversary of Swani Vivekananda, will be held on January 10, 2015, She also announced that from January 21st, 2015, the Terai- Dooars Khel Utsav will be held at Darjeeling.
The Chief Minister,on her second day of visit will chair and administrative meeting at Inda in Kharagpur.
