WB CM inaugurates sports academy at Batanagar

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee conducted an administrative review meeting at Batanagar in South 24 Parganas district today where she took stock of the progress of various developmental works undertaken in the district.
After coming to power, the Chief Minister has conducted over 75 such meetings at block level. She has visited every district at least thrice.
She also addressed a public rally at Batanagar where she highlighted the various developmental projects undertaken for the region.
Highlights of her speech:
- A film city has been set up at Batanagar.
- A flyover is coming up that will connect Jinjirabazar to Batanagar.
- Sourav Ganguly, former captain of Indian Cricket team, is setting up a sports academy here.
- I am proud of Sourav. Hope his sports academy will give rise to future sporting talents.
- Apollo Hospital is setting up a medical college and 1000-bed hospital here. We are thankful to them.
- There is huge potential in Bengal. From roads to sports academy, hospitals to film city, everything is coming up here.
- Today is a historic day. Today a new surge of development has begun in Batanagar.
- This is a new sunrise. We want to build good citizens for the future.
