WB CM inaugurates 8 new Critical Care Units for State Hospitals

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. MamataBanerjee inaugurates eight new Critical Care Units for state hospitals. The units were inaugurated by the Chief Minister through remotecontrol in a programme at the newly-renovated Nazrul Mancha.
All the CCUs will have 12 beds (4 ICU and 8 High Dependency Unit beds). The CCUs will also be equipped with modern instruments like Ventilator, Multi Channel Monitor, Pulse Generator, BiPAP Machine for Non-invasive Ventilation, Arterial Blood Gas Analyzer etc.
All these lifesaving devices will be instrumental in healing patients having serious disorders like heart attack, stroke, complete heart block, acute respiratory failure etc.
The eight new Critical Care Units will comeup at:
- Maharaja Jitendra Narayan District Hospital- Cooch Bihar
- Howrah District Hospital – Howrah
- Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital -Baharampur, Murshidabad
- ID & BJ Hospital – Belghata, Kolkata
- School of Tropical Medicine – Kolkata
- Deben Mahato District Hospital – Purulia
- Krishnanagar District Hospital – Nadia
The State has already seen a boost in theHealth sector with SNCUs and SNSUs being set up in every district hospitals.Fair price medicine shops in the state provide more than 60% discount onmedicines, thus helping the poor. Fair price diagnostic centres are also beingset up to give similar support. The new Critical Care Units will also boost thestate`s initiative to provide healthcare for all.
On today`s occasion, West Bengal Chief MinisterMs. Mamata Banerjee also inaugurated the renovated Nazrul Mancha. The age-oldopen air auditorium has been modernized under the initiatives of the ChiefMinister.
A joint project of the KMDA and KIT, therenovated auditorium has a top coverage of around 4650 sq m and is nowair-conditioned. It now has a seating capacity for an audience of 2500. Thewooden stage, which measures 400 sq m, has also been renovated. Fire securityand underground drainages, which had been a long standing problem with theNazrul Mancha, have also been fixed.
SharadSamman 2013 were given away by ministers and MPs in the presence of the CM.
