WB CM chairs meeting with Task Force to check price rise of vegetables at Nabanna
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday directed the traders to ensure that prices of essential commodities are not raised during the next two to three months. During the task force meeting at Nabanna on Thursday, Banerjee told the traders forum to work together to arrest price hike and directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to keep a vigil on the markets.
The prices of vegetables and fruits are somewhat stable during the last few months and the Chief Minister appreciated the traders for keeping the prices under check.
The next meeting of the task force has been called 15 days later wherein the prices would be checked. This apart, the West Bengal Chief Minister also cautioned traders against price hike of potatoes and urged bureaucrats to see to it that potato prices do not rise. Presently, potatoes (chandramukhi variety) cost Rs.14 per kg and the jyoti variety cost Rs.12 per kg.
Farmers are getting around Rs.10 per kg compared to Rs.3 that they got last year and are getting a good price for their produce. But if the prices go up, then the Government would interfere
The Government is taking all efforts to ensure that potato crisis does not arise.
In fact, Bengal has the lowest inflation among states according to the latest economic survey from the Central government. The Chief Minister said that it was the result of the state’s better performance in agriculture.
“The latest Economic Survey published by the Central Government has noted that our State has shown the lowest inflation rate in the country (less than 3%). This distinction could be achieved due to our continuous monitoring of prices of essential commodities in Task Force meetings held regularly,” Mamata Banerjee posted on the Facebook.

বৃহস্পতিবার নবান্নে খাদ্য সামগ্রীর দাম নিয়ন্ত্রণ নিয়ে গঠিত টাস্ক ফোর্সের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। শাক-সবজি, আলু সহ অন্যান্য খাদ্য সামগ্রীর দাম নিয়ন্ত্রণে রাখতে কৃষি ও খাদ্য দপ্তরেরে আধিকারিকদের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
বিশেষত আলুর দাম নিয়ন্ত্রনের ওপর বিশেষভাবে নজর দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। বর্তমানে আলু চাষিরা ১০ টাকায় আলু বিক্রি করে দিচ্ছেন ফলে বাজারে প্রায় ১২ থেকে ১৪ টাকায় বিক্রি হচ্ছে।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী এদিন টাস্ক ফোর্সের আধিকারিকদের জানিয়েছেন, এই মুহূর্তে গোটা রাজ্যের আলু পরিমাণ কতটা তার হিসেব চেয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। খাদ্য সামগ্রীর দাম নিয়ন্ত্রণে প্রয়োজনে ১৫ দিন অন্তর বৈঠক করার নির্দেশ দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
এনফোর্সমেন্ট দফতরের পুলিশ আধিকারিকদের নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে বাজারগুলিতে নজর রাখতে। রাজ্য সরকার সব্জির দাম নিয়ন্ত্রণে রাখতে পারায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী খুশি।
কৃষিক্ষেত্রে যেন কোনভাবেই বিদ্যুতের ঘাটতি না হয় সেদিকে নজর রাখতে হবে। বাজারগুলিতে নিয়মিত খাদ্য সামগ্রী বিক্রিরও নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
ইতিমধ্যেই পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ধারাবাহিকভাবে কৃষি কর্মণ পুরস্কার জিতে নজির গড়েছে। এদিন কৃষিক্ষেত্রে আরও একটি সাফল্য পেল পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার।পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুদ্রাস্ফীতির হার দেশের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে কম।
“আপনারা জেনে খুশি হবেন কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার সম্প্রতি যে অর্থনৈতিক সমীক্ষার ফল প্রকাশ করেছে সেখানে দেখা গেছে সারা দেশের মধ্যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুদ্রাস্ফীতি সবচেয়ে কম। তিন শতাংশের কম হারে রাজ্যে মুদ্রাস্ফীতি হয়েছে”। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী তার ফেসবুক পোস্টে একথা জানিয়েছেন।
