Trinamool’s reaction to Union Budget

The Union Finance Minister presented the Union Budget for the year 2019-2020 today in Lok Sabha. Chief National Spokesperson of the party, Derek O’Brien gave his reaction to the Budget on behalf of the party.
He said, “This is a ‘dream’ budget! Government is still only selling dreams and not delivering. Far from a dream, it’s a nightmare for common people who are suffering”
Here is the complete reaction of Trinamool to Union Budget:
Budget-
“This is a ‘dream’ budget! Government is still only selling dreams and not delivering. Far from a dream, it’s a nightmare for common people who are suffering”
Sell India-
FDI in media, aviation and more benefits to foreign insurance intermediaries means government has introduced concept of “Sell India”
Jobs and the issue of job creation not addressed in policy terms. (We were told about a new TV program for startups!)
Railways discussed for only two minutes. So, as Trinamool had predicted a few years ago, the Railway Budget has disappeared. Special Purpose Vehicle (SPVs) for Railways is anti federal, it burdens States.
Cess, too, mocks federalism, since Cess is not shared by Centre with States
Farmers
At current growth rates, Govt’s promise of doubling farmer income will only happen in 2040, not 2022. Bengal already tripled farmer income.
GDP numbers… All over the place.
