Trinamool reaches out to people during campaign on Sunday

On the last Sunday before the October 3 local body polls, Trinamool Congress was on a full-fledged campaign mode in Bidhannagar-Rajarhat, Asansol, Bali and Siliguri. After weeks of door-to-door campaigns, street corner meetings and distribution of leaflets, the last holiday before the elections saw huge mass rallies and roadshows where party senior leadership took part.

Trinamool Youth Congress President Abhishek Banerjee held a roadshow at Rajarhat. The firebrand leader and MP criticized the ‘Siliguri Model’ and said these coalitions are nothing but eyewash. The developmental works taken up by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the actual truth. He said that the Left parties are trying desperately to hinder progress but they will not be successful.

In Bali, the main campaigners of the day were MPs Suvendu Adhikari and Prasun Banerjee along with Ministers Firhad Hakim, Aroop Roy and Rajib Banerjee. Thousands of people took part in the roadshows.

In Jalpaiguri Panchayat Samity by-elections, district president Sourav Chakraborty led the campaign. North Bengal Development Minister Gautam Deb released the Manifesto for Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad elections.

In Asansol, the Sunday campaign saw meetings and roadshows led by MP Kalyan Banerjee and Minister Moloy Ghatak.
