Trinamool MPs stage dharna against FCRA amendment
Trinamool MPs, from both Houses, protested in front of Gandhi statue inside the Parliament complex today, against the amendment to the FCRA Bill which was passed in the Lok Sabha in din, without discussion.
The MPs raised slogans like: “Mazdoor kisaan majboor hain, Party fund mein dollar zaroor hai”, “Foreign kala dhan party fund mein nahi chalega”, “Chori se amendment chila chilli mein kyu pass kiya” and “Black money in foreign banks = White money in political accounts”.
The amendment to Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act 2010 (FCRA) Bill makes foreign donations to political parties of India legal, right from August 5, 1976. Trinamool had also protested against an earlier amendment, which sought to make the date September 26, 2010. The retrospective amendment is a fallout of a 2014 Delhi High Court that held parties guilty of violating the FCRA.
The amendment was passed within half-an-hour on March 19 amid a lot of din. Nobody was given the opportunity to discuss it.
Trinamool Congress is opposed to this amendment because such an amendment will endanger India’s political agenda being directed by special interest groups, with no real checks and balances in the horizon.
The possibility of “round tripping” of funds especially with the PNB and other banks scam by Nirav Modi and others will find legitimate sanction and ease. One never knows whether the black money stashed abroad might find a safe and legal route back through these political parties back to India.

এফসিআরএ সংশোধনীর বিরুদ্ধে তৃণমূল সাংসদদের ধর্না
এফসিআরএ বিলের সংশোধনীর বিরুদ্ধে তৃণমূল সাংসদরা আজ সংসদে গান্ধীমূর্তির পাদদেশে ধর্না দেন। গত ১৯শে মার্চ, হৈ হট্টগোলের মধ্যে লোকসভায় বিনা আলোচনায় যেভাবে এফসিআরএ বিলের সংশোধনী পাস করানো হয়, তার প্রতিবাদে স্লোগান দেন উভয়কক্ষের তৃণমূল সাংসদরা। ২০১৪ সালে দিল্লি হাইকোর্টের এক রায়ের ফলে এই সংশোধনী আনা হয়েছে। সেই রায় অনুযায়ী অনেক দল এফসিআরএ বিল ভঙ্গ করেছে।
ধর্ণার সময় সাংসদরা বিভিন্ন স্লোগান তোলেন, যেমন – “বিদেশী কালো টাকা পার্টি ফান্ডে নেওয়া চলবে না” কিংবা “হৈ হট্টগোলে চুপিসারে সংশোধনী পাস হল কেন” এবং “বিদেশের কালো টাকা = দেশের পার্টি ফান্ডে সাদা টাকা”
ফরেন কন্ট্রিবিউশন (রেগুলেশন) অ্যাক্ট ২০১০ (এফসিআরএ) বিল সংশোধনের মাধ্যমে ১৯৭৬ সালের ৫ই আগস্টের পর থেকে বিদেশ থেকে রাজনৈতিক দলগুলি যা অনুদান পেয়েছে তা আইনি মান্যতা পেল। অতীতেও যখন সংশোধনী এনে এই সময়সীমা পিছিয়ে সেপ্টেম্বর ২৬, ২০১০ করার প্রস্তাব দেওয়া হয়েছিল, তখনও তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস এর প্রতিবাদ করে।
তৃণমূল এই সংশোধনীর বিরোধী কারণ এর ফলে কিছু বিদেশী সংস্থার দ্বারা দেশের রাজনৈতিক এজেন্ডা চালিত হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা থাকবে। ইতিমধ্যেই দেশ পিএনবি এবং অন্যান্য ব্যাঙ্কে টাকা তছরুপের কেলেঙ্কারি নিয়ে উত্তাল। নীরব মোদীর মত লোকেরা এবার এই সংশোধনীর মাধ্যমে তাদের কালো টাকা সাদা করার সুযোগ পাবেন।
