Trinamool leads Opposition charge in Parliament

Trinamool Congress has been at the forefront of Opposition protests throughout the first week of the Winter Session of Parliament.
Black Money
Trinamool protested both inside and outside the Parliament on the issue of black money, forcing the Government to agree to a discussion on the issue. Other parties also rallied behind TMC.
When the government failed to give a satisfactory reply to the Opposition’s charges on this issue, Trinamool and other Opposition parties staged a walkout in both Houses.
100 Days’ Work
Trinamool MPs were also vocal about the proposed division of MGNREGA scheme, which will affect a large section of the rural population. Three MPs of the party spoke on the issue in Rajya Sabha. Party MPs also vocally opposed the proposed move in Lok Sabha.

Trinamool Congress took to innovative protests during the first week of the Winter Session of the Parliament to protest against anti-people policies of the Centre.
On Tuesday, the Party MPs sat on a dharna outside Parliament gates with black umbrellas, with slogans written on them. Party MPs in Lok Sabha kept demonstrating inside the House too, leading to several adjournments.
On Thursday, the MPs staged protest against Centre’s false promises regarding black money by wearing black shawls.
On Friday, the party MPs protested against Centre’s proposed move to dilute MGNREGA scheme by staging a dharna with handis (earthen bowls).
