The skill development scenario in Bangla is one of the best in the country, as proven by the numerous awards and recognitions given to the government and its schemes. Utkarsh Bangla is the flagship skill development programme, which has won numerous recognitions.

More than 5.83 lakh youths undergoing training (target 6 lakh in FY 2019) in 324 courses in 38 sectors at 268 ITIs (both government and private), 153 government polytechnics and 3,289 vocational training centres and vocational education schools

Since 2011, 28 government polytechnic colleges and one government-sponsored polytechnic college operationalised bringing the total number to 69
In FY 2019, government imparted training to 5,15,010 people

Group insurance scheme, Swasthya Sathi implemented for 15,798 teaching and non-teaching staff associated with the vocational education and training programme
