Swapner Bhor to further empower Kanyashrees
To enable Kanyashree recipients to become employment-ready, the State Government has started a scheme called Swapner Bhor. Through this scheme, eligible Kanyashree beneficiaries would receive technical training, which will help them to achieve economic independence.
This was announced in the State Assembly recently, while answering a question, by the Women, Child Development and Social Welfare Minister.
She also said that there is no restriction with regard to family income for availing of this scheme. This lifting of the age restriction is in line with a similar measure for the Kanyashree Scheme.
Currently, there are more than 55.5 lakh beneficiaries under the internationally-recognised Kanyashree Scheme.
