Sufal Bangla publishes list of outlets selling genuine Joynagar-er moya, nalen gur
As winter is at our thresholds, so is the demand for sweets like Joynagar-er moya, and jiggery varieties like nalen gur and patali gur. The former had achieved GI certification for its uniqueness in 2015.
Precisely because of their high demand, there are available versions of these which are not genuine all over Bengal. To enable consumers to get the genuine varieties, the State Agricultural Marketing Department’s Sufal Bangla outlets are stocking these products.

Out of the 22 outlets in the list, 14 are static and eight are mobile. The products have been made available from November 28, and will be stocked for the whole of the winter season.
This year, 20 well-known moa makers of Joynagar-Majilpur (better known as Joynagar) and Dakshin Barasat gram panchayat (both in South 24 Parganas district) have been given the license to produce Joynagarer-er moa, and it is moa from only these makers which are being considered genuine.
The prices at the Sufal Bangla outlets have also been fixed by the government for everyone’s convenience, and they have been kept moderate: Rs 200 for a 10-piece packet of moa, Rs 300 per kg of nalen gur and Rs 200 per kg of patali gur.
