State Govt’s old-age pension providing social security
Underscoring the social security net that the Trinamool Congress Government provides, the State Social Welfare Minister, in reply to a question in the Assembly, said that 83,738 people at present get old-age pension from the government.
She further said that the current amount is Rs 750 per month. The pension is provided as per the rules of the West Bengal Old Age Pension Scheme.
The financial assistance is provided to residents of Bangla who are 60 years and above, provided the family income of the person does not exceed Rs 1,000 per month and the person does not receive any other government pension.
