State Govt signs deals with MAKAUT to develop skills for entrepreneurs

To further boost entrepreneurship in Bangla, the State Science & Technology and Biotechnology Department has recently signed two memorandums of understanding (MoU) with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
The memorandums call for the introduction of two courses – MTech on geoinformatics and postgraduate (PG) diploma on intellectual property rights (IPR) and technology business management.
These courses will equip students with skills in high demand now, which will help them set up start-ups, besides getting jobs in companies.
Geoinformatics or spatial science is a tool science for many fields, from geology to civil engineering to public health planning to several others. The diploma course will help entrepreneurs become self-dependent about using the intellectual property rights, especially those related to using technology in business.
