Significant achievements in school education in Bangla
The State School Education Department has had several significant achievements, the primary among which are as follows:
Significant reduction in dropout rates
- Primary level: From 3.45 to -2.12
- Upper primary level: From 5.3 to -0.17
- Secondary level: From 17.50 to 14.64
- Higher secondary level: From 17.48 to 11.04
Retention rates increased
- At primary level: 105.98
- At upper primary level: 91.06
Recruitment of teachers
- 63,510 regular primary teachers recruited
- 30,618 regular upper primary/secondary/higher secondary teachers (including headmasters) recruited
- Almost 13 lakh teachers recruited since 2011
- 284 Santhali-medium teaching posts created
Training of teachers
- Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) training given to 89,095 teachers
Improvements in pupil-teacher ratio
- Primary level: Down from 29.7 to 20
- Upper primary level: Down from 48.07 to 42
