SFDC revenue increases more than 1.5 times during puja season

The State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC) has done very good business during this Durga Puja festivities. It had set up 26 stalls at various pandals. Combining the earnings from the stalls, online orders and its Nalban restaurant, the organisation did business worth Rs 44.5 lakh, a big jump from the Rs 27 lakh during the 2017 Durga Puja, thus an increase by 1.65 times.

The break-up is as follows: Rs 34 lakh from the 26 stalls, Rs 7 lakh through online orders, Rs 3.5 lakh from the All Fish Restaurant at Nalban.

The difference this time has been not only because of the orders received through the SFDC app, Smart Fish but also an increase in the number of stalls set up. The stalls were packed this time on all days, all through Kolkata.

This time, the stalls also sold raw fish along with the usual ready-to-eat items. Hence, sales went on all through the days, and late into the nights.

Another attraction at the stalls this time was the Puja bhog. The restaurant at Nalban served buffet comprising of eight to nine fish dishes, and that too at only at Rs 399.
