Plan to have fire stations in every Assembly constituency
The Bengal Government has plans to set up at least one fire station in every Assembly constituency. This was stated by the Minister for Fire and Emergency Services after opening a fire station at Bali in Howrah district recently.
The Minister, among other things, also said that the cooperation of people is required for Fire Department personnel to fight fires effectively.
Measures are constantly being taken to gradually upgrade all the fire stations of the state to house whatever latest fire-fighting equipment is required.
In 2016, 93 fire tenders were purchased while this year, the number has already crossed 40. New fire stations have come up in different areas of Kolkata and in the districts. The Trinamool Congress Government has taken steps to ensure that fire-fighters are well-trained and reach the incident spot on time.

সব বিধানসভা কেন্দ্রেই দমকল কেন্দ্র গড়ার পরিকল্পনা রাজ্যের
হাওড়ার বালি’তে একটি দমকল কেন্দ্রের উদ্বোধনে গিয়ে অগ্নিনির্বাপন ও জরুরি পরিষেবা মন্ত্রী বলেন, রাজ্য সরকারের পরিকল্পনা আছে রাজ্যের ২৯৪টি কেন্দ্রের প্রতিটিতে অন্তত একটি করে দমকল কেন্দ্র তৈরি করার।
মন্ত্রী বলেন, আগুন নেভানোর ক্ষেত্রে স্থানীয় মানুষদের দমকল কর্মীদের সঙ্গে সহযোগিতা একান্ত কাম্য।
যা যা নিত্য নতুন অগ্নিনির্বাপক যন্ত্রাদি তৈরি হচ্ছে, সব দিয়ে প্রতিটি দমকল কেন্দ্রকে অত্যাধুনিক করে তোলা হচ্ছে।
২০১৬ সালে ৯৩টি দমকল গাড়ি কেনা হয়েছিল, সেখানে এবছরে ইতিমধ্যেই ৪০টি গাড়ি কেনা হয়ে গেছে। কলকাতার বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে ও অন্যান্য জেলার বিভিন্ন স্থানে দমকল কেন্দ্র খোলা হয়েছে। সরকার বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে যাতে দমকলকর্মীরা সঠিক প্রশিক্ষণ প্রাপ্ত হন ও নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে দুর্ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছতে সক্ষম হন।
