Permanent address for ‘Thika Tenants’
The Government of West Bengal in collaboration with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has come up with a novel initiative of sanctioning building plans of Thika Tenants who are residing in a Thika tenancy.
To make the process convenient and to decrease the hardships of these tenants who have permanent structures stuck or are facing property mutation problems, the State Government has decided to do away with the delays.
The government has taken the following decisions:
Within the next month all application for recording as Thika Tenant, filed with the KMC and currently pending with the Controller of Thika Tenancy will be disposed of.
All Thika Tenants and Bharatias cornered will be identified and certificates to that effect will be handed over to them.
This certificate will ease the process of mutation of property in the name of the Thika Tenant in KMC.
This certificate will also help in obtaining permission for repair/construction of buildings standing on Thika properties, if the application is made as per Building Rules.
Meanwhile, already identifies Thika Tenants, who have not yet applied for mutation with the KMC, are being asked to get in touch with the KMC.
