Now get 3D selfies when you visit Mother’s Wax Museum
Taking selfies with the wax figurines at Mother’s Wax Museum (MWM) has been a craze among visitors at the New Town museum. Now, a visitor can get their own 3D selfie done at MWM.
The Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) has recently introduced this cutting-edge technology, by which a person’s face and head is scanned 360 degrees and a golf ball-sized 3D sculpture is printed by a 3D printer. The finished sculpture is couriered in 48 hours.
The finished sculpture comes at a price of Rs 2,000 (including courier charges). The process is done adjacent to the souvenir counter.
MWM, the first of its kind in eastern India, has recorded a staggering footfall of 6 lakh people till last February, since its inauguration three years ago. Being situated close to the hugely popular Eco Park, many people who come there also visit Mother’s Wax Museum.
The museum is divided into several sections, which include wax statues of famous people from the world of entertainment, noted scientists, novelists, personalities and cricketers. The fantasy section, which includes statues of characters like Chota Bheem, Doraemon, Spider-Man and others, has become very popular among children. For those who like a “scare”, there is spooky horror section too!
এবার মাদার্স ওয়াক্স মিউজিয়ামে মিলবে থ্রি-ডি সেলফি
নিউ টাউনের মাদার্স ওয়াক্স মিউজিয়াম ইতিমধ্যেই সাড়া ফেলেছে সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে। বিভিন্ন মনীষীদের মোমের প্রতিকৃতির সঙ্গে সেলফি তোলা যেন শখে পরিণত হয়েছে। এবার এই মিউজিয়াম সফরকে আরও স্মরণীয় করে তুলতে চালু হচ্ছে ‘থ্রি-ডি সেলফি’। হিডকো সম্প্রতি এই অত্যাধুনিক প্রযুক্তি নিয়ে এসেছে মাদার্স ওয়াক্স মিউজিয়ামে। এই রকম উদ্যোগ পূর্ব ভারতে এই প্রথম।
স্যুভেনির কাউন্টারের ঠিক পাশে তোলা যাবে থ্রি-ডি সেলফি। এই প্রযুক্তির মাধ্যমে যে ব্যক্তি সেলফি তুলতে ইচ্ছুক তার মাথা ৩৬০ ডিগ্রী স্ক্যান করা হবে। একটি গলফ বলের আকারের ‘থ্রি-ডি ভাস্কর্য’ বেরোবে প্রিন্টার থেকে। ৪৮ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে কুরিয়ারের মাধ্যমে তার বাড়ি পৌঁছে দেওয়া হবে এই ‘সেলফি’। এই থ্রি-ডি সেলফির জন্য খরচ পড়বে ২০০০ টাকা।
উল্লেখ্য, গত ফেব্রুয়ারি মাস পর্যন্ত, তিন বছরে এই মাদার্স ওয়াক্স মিউজিয়ামে ৬ লক্ষ মানুষ এসেছেন।
