Mishti Hub in New Town to open soon
A Mishti Hub is coming up in New Town, near the airport. The State Government agency, HIDCO is overseeing the making of the hub near gate number 3 of Eco Park. The hub is likely to be inaugurated before the Bengali New Year.
The hub will solve a long-standing demand of airport-bound passengers (want to buy the famous sweets of Kolkata but fail to get them as most of the well-known shops are situated in the southern and the central areas) and residents of New Town. It will also cater to the thousands of people who come every day to work in New Town (and the number is only increasing, what with it becoming one of the major finance and IT hubs of the country) as well as the tourists, both domestic and foreign, who visit Eco Park throughout the year.
It will basically be a shopping complex made up of sweet shops. The hub will be where one would be able to get the best of Bengali sweets from across the state. It will be the first of its kind in and around Kolkata.
The will have 11 counters in the shop-in-shop concept. Ten of the best sweet shops in Kolkata will be shortlisted and space will be rented out to them.
The 11th one will be reserved for ethnic sweets – lyangcha from Shaktigarh, sitabhog and mihidana from Purba Bardhaman district, sarpuria and sarbhaja from Krishnanagar, chhanabora from Murshidabad and others.
Each shop will have three compartments, namely display section, delivery section and cash section. The construction of the hub is being carried out, keeping tradition in mind.
নিউটাউনে তৈরী হচ্ছে মিষ্টি হাব
নিউটাউনে তৈরী হতে চলেছে মিষ্টি হাব। রাজ্য সরকারের সংস্থা হিডকো ইকো পার্কের ৩ নম্বর গেটের কাছে এই হাবটি তৈরী করছে। আশা করা যায় বাংলা নববর্ষের আগেই এই মিষ্টি হাবটি উদ্বোধন হয়ে যাবে। কলকাতায় এই ধরনের হাব এই প্রথম তৈরী হচ্ছে।
এই হাবটি তৈরী হলে এলাকাবাসীদের পাশাপাশি বিমানবন্দরগামী যাত্রী তথা নিউটাউনে কাজ করতে আসা মানুষদের চাহিদা পূরণ হবে।
নিউটাউন এখন দেশের অন্যতম ফিনান্স ও আইটি হাব। এছাড়া ইকো পার্কে আসা অগণিত দেশী বিদেশী পর্যটকরাও বাংলার মিষ্টির স্বাদ পাবেন সহজে।
এই মিষ্টি হাবটি আদপে একটি শপিং কমপ্লেক্সের মত হবে। এখানে রাজ্যের প্রতিটি প্রান্তের মিষ্টি পাওয়া যাবে। এখানে ১১টি মিষ্টির কাউন্টার থাকবে, কলকাতার সেরা দশজন মিষ্টি প্রস্তুতকারক বেছে নেওয়া হবে ১০টি কাউন্টারের জন্য। ১১ নম্বর কাউন্টারটি সংরক্ষিত হবে বাংলার পারম্পরিক মিষ্টির সম্ভারের জন্য – যেমন, শক্তিগড়ের ল্যাংচা, সীতাভোগ, কৃষ্ণনগরের সরপুরিয়া, সরভাজা, মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার ছানাবড়া ইত্যাদি।
প্রতিটি দোকানে ৩টি বিভাগ থাকবে: ডিসপ্লে সেকশন, ডেলিভারি সেকশন এবং ক্যাশ সেকশন।
