Mirik BPHC to be upgraded to State’s 69th sub-divisional hospital

Acting on the instruction of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Mirik block primary health centre (BPHC) is being upgraded to Bangla’s 69th sub-divisional hospital.

On March 30, 2018 the chief minister had upgraded Mirik block n Darjeeling district into a subdivision. And now Mirik is getting its sub-divisional hospital.

Regarding the upgrading of facilities, the 30-bedded BPHC will be converted into a 100-bedded hospital. From four to five doctors presently, it will have 15 to 20 more. Other human resources would be recruited as necessary.

Besides, there will be an OPD, diagnostic centres, male and female medical wards, male and female surgical wards, paediatric ward, special newborn care unit (SNCU) and a six-bedded high-dependency unit (HDU). A blood bank will also come up in the hospital.
