Manobik scheme – Didi’s humane touch in Budget 2018
As usual, the humane face of the West Bengal Government was once again the limelight of the State Budget 2018-19, where the Bengal Finance Minister introduced the Manobik scheme for the physically challenged people of the State.
During the Budget speech, Dr Amit Mitra stated that persons with 40% or more disabilities will receive a monthly pension of Rs 1,000. Two lakh people will be benefitted, he informed. This new scheme will be called Manobik, he said.
He also mentioned that persons with 50% or more disability will also be included under the new scheme.
He allocated Rs 250 crore for this scheme.

এবারেও রাজ্য বাজেটে সরকারের মানবিক মুখ। যাদের প্রতিবন্ধকতা ৪০% বা তার বেশি রয়েছে তাদের জন্য একটি নতুন প্রকল্পের কথা ঘোষণা করলেন অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র।
২০১৮-১৯ অর্থবর্ষের বাজেট পেশ করার সময় অর্থমন্ত্রী জানান, যাদের প্রতিবন্ধকতা ৪০% বা তার বেশি রয়েছে তাদের মাসে ৭৫০ টাকা পেনশন দেওয়া হয়, এদের কথা ভেবে নতুন পেনশন প্রকল্প চালু করা হল। প্রকল্পের নাম ‘মানবিক’।এটি মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নিজস্ব পরিকল্পনায় সৃষ্টি।
এই প্রকল্পে ১০০০ টাকা মাসিক পেনশন দেওয়া হবে। এর ফলে উপকৃত হবেন প্রায় ২ লক্ষ মানুষ।
প্রকল্পের জন্য ২৫০ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে।
