Mamata Banerjee inaugurates Garden Reach Flyover
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated the 4 km long Garden Reach Flyover connecting Brooklyn crossing, close to Ramnagar at the Garden Reach end and terminating near Majherhat Railway Station.
The flyover will be of immense help to people from the port area, in reaching the heart of the city much earlier. The estimated time to cross this stretch through the elevated road will be less than 10 minutes. The road that most vehicles currently take runs in a different direction and takes between 30 and 40 minutes to cover, mainly because of heavy port traffic.
Highlights of Chief Minister’s speech:
- This flyover will help people reach their destinations faster, and will help the ‘Safe drive, save life’ initiative.
- Over the last six years, several developments for the benefit of the city have taken place, from widening of roads and drainage to beautification.
- Another flyover is coming up in this region, from Bata to Jinjirabazar. It is a Rs 250-crore project which should be ready in eight months. This is about 7.5km long and we have plans to make it a part of a 30-km long elevated road from Joka to Garia, which will be the longest flyover in the country.
- More flyovers will come up. In the coming years, we will be spending Rs 12,180 crore on infrastructure. Among the proposed flyovers are Ganesh Chandra Avenue to New Market; Taratala to Tollygunge to Anwar Shah Road to Jadavpur phari; Tala to Dunlop; Maniktala crossing along AJC Bose Road; College Square crossing to Salt Lake; EM Bypass to New Town and Ballygunge Phari to Park Circus.
- All this requires planning.Unlike the centre, which is only trying to capture. All these projects used to take place under the JNNRUM. But all this has been stopped by them.
- States are being deprived by the centre because many projects like this have been stopped. In the coming days, these states will unite to make a change.
গার্ডেনরিচ উড়ালপুলের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী
আজ গার্ডেনরিচ উড়ালপুলের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এই উড়ালপুল তৈরীতে খরচ হয়েছে ৩৩৯ কোটি ২২ লক্ষ টাকা। এই পুরো টাকাটাই দিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। উড়ালপুলটি তৈরী করেছে কেএমডিএ।
রামনগরের ব্রুকলেন থেকে উঠে মাঝেরহাটে নামছে এই উড়ালপুলটি। অপর একটি লেন রিমাউন্ট রোডের দিকে নামবে। এই উড়ালপুলের কাজ শুরু হয় ২০১৪ সালে। এর ফলে গার্ডেনরিচ ও সংলগ্ন মানুষের প্রভূত উপকার হবে।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশ:
- এই উড়ালপুল মানুষকে তাঁদের গন্তব্যস্থলে অনেক তাড়াতাড়ি পৌছে দেবে এবং ‘সেফ ড্রাইভ, সেভ লাইভ’ উদ্যোগকে বাস্তবায়িত করবে।
- গত ছ-বছরে শহরের উন্নয়নের স্বার্থে নানা পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হয়েছে, অনেক রাস্তা চওড়া করা হয়েছে, অনেক রাস্তা প্রসারিত করা হয়েছে এবং সৌন্দর্যায়নের নানা প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়িত হয়েছে।
- এই এলাকায় আরেকটা ফ্লাইওভার হচ্ছে, বাটা থেকে জিঞ্জিরা বাজার। ২৫০ কোটি টাকার প্রকল্প, আগামী ৭/৮ মাসের মধ্যে হয়ে যাবে।এ ছাড়াও, জোকা থেকে গড়িয়া পর্যন্ত আরেকটি উড়ালপুলের পরিকল্পনা করা হয়েছে যা কিনা দেশের সর্ববৃহৎ উড়ালপুল হবে।
- ১২,১৮০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে আরও যে সব উড়ালপুল হবে তা হল- গণেশ চন্দ্র অ্যাভিনিউ থেকে নিউমার্কেট, তারাতলা থেকে টালিগঞ্জ, টালিগঞ্জ থেকে আনোয়ার শাহ রোড, আনোয়ার শাহ রোড থেকে যাদবপুর ফাঁড়ি, টালা থেকে ডানলপ, ঢাকুরিয়া থেকে যাদবপুর, কলেজ স্কোয়ার থেকে কলেজ মোড়, বাইপাস থেকে নিউটাউন, বালিগঞ্জ ফাঁড়ি থেকে পার্ক সার্কাস ক্রসিং ফ্লাইওভার হবে।
- এই সবের জন্য অনেক পরিকল্পনার প্রয়োজন।এই প্রকল্পগুলি আগে জে এন এন আর ইউ এম- দ্বারা তৈরি হত কিন্তু এখন কেন্দ্রের বঞ্চণার ফলে তা হয় না এবং সেই সব সাহায্য বন্ধ করা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
- কেন্দ্রের বঞ্চণার ফলে অনেক রাজ্যে অনেক প্রকল্প বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। আগামী দিনে সমস্ত রাজ্য একজোট হয়ে এদের বিরুদ্ধে পরিবর্তন আনবে।
