Mamata Banerjee forms ‘grievance cell’, launches toll-free number for state govt schemes

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today set up a committee to monitor the implementation of state government run schemes. She announced this during a press conference at Nabanna today.

The ‘ grievance cell’ would be called ‘Monitoring of Programme Implementation’. Colonel Diptangshu Chaudhury will be in charge of this committee. A state government team will work under him to oversee the state government schemes.

A toll-free number has been announced for this purpose, where anybody can call and lodge their grievances regarding state government run schemes. The number is 18000 345 8244. Apart from that general public can also SMS their grievances to the number 9073300524. The dedicated e-mail id for this purpose would be wbcmro@gmail.com.

Once a grievance is lodged, the issue has to be settled within seven days, the CM announced. She suggested that one Deputy Magistrate could be appointed in each district to expedite the process of taking action after a grievance is lodged.

Apart from this, the state government is also working to strengthen the economic offence wing. Apart from police officials, officers from the other departments will also be a part of this wing
