KMC signs MoU with South Dhaka City Corporation
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Dhaka South City Corporation, to exchange the best practices of the two cities. The agreement was signed by the two mayors of the civic bodies.
The mayor of Kolkata said that Dhaka South City Corporation was impressed by the transformation Kolkata has undergone in the last few years, under the guidance of the Trinamool Congress-run administration.
On the other hand, during the meeting, the mayor of the Dhaka civic body also pitched in on aspects on which that municipal body has done well.
Hence an agreement was signed for working together to make Kolkata and Dhaka clean and green, with all possible civic amenities being provided. According to a senior KMC official, the areas that have been identified for collaboration include solid waste management, healthcare, education, traffic management and a few others.
The mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation had attended the highly-successful Bengal Global Business Summit held over two days from February 7 to 8.
