Investment proposals worth Rs 2,000 crore received at Hill Business Summit
Investment proposals worth Rs 2,000 crore were received at Hill Business Summit, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced. Today was the second and last day of the first-ever business summit in the Hills.
Investment proposals have been received in the sectors of food processing, hotel, dairy and aquarium, orchids, tea tourism, agro-industries and steel, the CM said.
Bengal wants to see Darjeeling smiling. Darjeeling has a brand value worldwide, she maintained.
Highlights of the CM’s speech:
- This is the first business summit in the Hills. We all want to work for the betterment of the people of Darjeeling.
- There are many opportunities of investment in agriculture, tourism, tea, trade, transport, skill development, horticulture, medicinal plants. There are several areas and sectors where we can work together in a better manner.
- I am happy that my industry friends have decided to invest more than Rs 2,000 crore in Darjeeling Hills.
- Investment proposals have been received in the sectors of food processing, hotel, dairy and aquarium, orchids, tea tourism, agro-industries and steel.
- Many more investment proposals will be coming in the coming days. This is a positive step. Hill economy will be pushed forward.
- MSME Synergy meeting will be held tomorrow. All proposals will be cleared by single window system.
- As per a report that has come out today, Bengal is No. 1 in ease of doing business. Bengal means business. Darjeeling also means business.
- There is a lot of talent in the Hills. It can yield results if nurtured well.

দার্জিলিঙের বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে ২,০০০ কোটি টাকার লগ্নি প্রস্তাব
দার্জিলিঙের বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে ২,০০০ কোটি টাকার বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব এসেছে। সম্মেলনের দ্বিতীয় তথা শেষ দিনে ঘোষণা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ, হোটেল, দুগ্ধজাত, অ্যাকোরিয়াম, অর্কিড, টি-পর্যটন, কৃষিজ ইন্ডাস্ট্রির ক্ষেত্রে এই লগ্নির প্রস্তাব আসে।
তিনি আরও বলেন, বাংলার মানুষ চায় পাহাড় হাসুক। সারা বিশ্বে দার্জিলিং সমাদৃত।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশঃ
- এই প্রথম পাহাড়ে বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন হল। আমরা সবাই দার্জিলিঙের উন্নতির জন্য কাজ করতে চাই।
- কৃষি, পর্যটন, চা, বাণিজ্য, পরিবহন, দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন, উদ্যান পালন, ঔষধি গাছের ক্ষেত্রে বিনিয়োগের সম্ভাবনা আছে। কয়েকটি ক্ষেত্রে আমরা যৌথভাবে আরও অনেক উন্নয়নের কাজ করতে পারি।
- আমি খুব খুশি যে শিল্পপতিরা এখানে ২,০০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগে আগ্রহী হয়েছে।
- খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ, হোটেল, ডেয়ারি, অ্যাকোরিয়াম, অর্কিড, চা-পর্যটন, কৃষি ভিত্তিক শিল্পর ক্ষেত্রে এই বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব আসে।
- আগামী দিনে আরও অনেক বিনিয়োগের প্রস্তাব আসবে। আজ একটি শুভ সূচনা হল। এতে পাহাড়ের অর্থনীতির আরও উন্নয়ন হবে।
- ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্পের সিনার্জি বৈঠক হবে আগামীকাল। এক জানালা পদ্ধতিতে আমরা সব প্রস্তাবিত বিনিয়োগের ছাড়পত্র দেব।
- আজকে প্রকাশিত ভারত সরকারের এক রিপোর্ট অনুযায়ী, শিল্প গড়ার সুবিধার দিক থেকে বাংলা দেশের সেরা। বাংলা মানেই বাণিজ্য। দার্জিলিং মানেই বাণিজ্য।
- পাহাড়ের ছেলেমেয়েদের দক্ষতার অভাব নেই, এই দক্ষদের উপযুক্ত সুযোগ করে দিলে তারা ভালো ফল করবেই।
- শান্তি থাকলেই, উন্নয়ন হবে। পাহাড়ের উন্নতির কথা ভেবে আমাদের একসঙ্গে কাজ করতে হবে।
- এই তো সবে শুরু হল। আমাদের যা লক্ষ্য – পাহাড়ের উন্নয়ন, সেই লক্ষ্যে আমাদের এগিয়ে যেতে হবে।
- যখনই দার্জিলিং সমৃদ্ধির পথে এগিয়ে যায়, এক শ্রেণীর মানুষ বিশৃঙ্খলা তৈরী করার চেষ্টা করে। আমরা একসাথে কাজ করলে কেউ আমাদের রুখতে পারবে না।
- পাহাড়ের ছেলেমেয়েরা চাকরি চায়। আমরা খুব তাড়াতাড়ি পাহাড়ে ৩০০ হোম গার্ড নিযুক্ত করব।
- বাংলার মানুষ চায় পাহাড় হাসুক। সারা বিশ্বে দার্জিলিং সমাদৃত।
