The island has two excellent accommodation facilities run by the State Fisheries Development Corporation (SFDC) – Mangrove and Sundari. The former has 27 well-furnished rooms and the latter has 19. A third one is coming up, which will have six luxurious rooms. For this, the State Government has given Rs 2 crore to SFDC. Along with this are coming up a children’s park and a bird sanctuary.

Over the last few years, the Trinamool Congress Government has taken a lot of initiatives to promote tourism in the State. The Tourism Department is not only promoting the well-known spots but is also discovering new places of tourism across the length and breadth of the State.
