Gems & jewellery sector to get State Govt support, assures Dr Mitra
The Bengal Government will help make the gems and jewellery industry the best in India as well as the world. This was stated by the Bengal Finance Minister, Dr Amit Mitra during a discussion with a delegation of the All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) on the sidelines of the 2018 Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS).
During the round table conference, Dr Mitra assured a space of 20,000 square feet (sq ft) to the gems and jewellery industry to start a common facility centre (CFC). This space is in addition to the 25,000 sq ft space already allotted to GJF by the State Government for skilling and training artisans.
He also discussed leading a delegation of jewellers to Italy, a top fashion hub, to enable tie-ups between Italian jewellery clusters and Indian jewellers.
Later, during a press conference at the end of BGBS, he said one lakh jobs will be created in the sector.
The GJF expects that, with support of the Bengal Government, the industry would be able to produce products of a quality at par with international standards.
গয়না শিল্পকে সবরকম সাহায্যের আশ্বাস অর্থমন্ত্রীর
শুধু দেশেই না বিদেশেও এরাজ্যের গয়না শিল্পকে প্রসারিত করতে সবরকম সাহায্য করবে রাজ্য সরকার। চতুর্থ বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে ‘অল ইন্ডিয়া জেমস অ্যান্ড জুয়েলারি ট্রেড ফেডারেশনের’ এক প্রতিনিধি দলের সঙ্গে আলোচনার পর একথা বলেন রাজ্যের শিল্প ও অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র।
গয়না শিল্পের জন্য কমন ফেসিলিটি সেন্টার গড়ে তুলতে ২০০০০ বঃফুঃ জমি দেওয়ার কথা ঘোষণা করেন তিনি। এর আগে এই ফেডারেশনকে ২৫০০০ বঃফুঃ জমি দেওয়া হয়েছে শিল্পীদের প্রশিক্ষন দেওয়ার জন্য।
জেমস ও জুয়েলারি হাবের এক প্রতিনিধি দলকে ইতালি নিয়ে যেতে আগ্রহী মন্ত্রী। এর ফলে ইতালীয় ও ভারতীয় গয়না শিল্পের এক মেলবন্ধন ঘটবে।
বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনের শেষে এক সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেন, গয়না শিল্পে এক লক্ষ কর্মসংস্থান হবে।
অল ইন্ডিয়া জেমস অ্যান্ড জুয়েলারি ট্রেড ফেডারেশন আশাবাদী রাজ্য সরকারের এহেন সহযোগিতার ফলে তাদের উৎপাদনের মান আন্তর্জাতিক স্তরের হয়ে উঠবে।
