Galaxy of stars at Bangla Sangeet Mela 2019 inauguration
Bangla Sangeet Mela 2019 was inaugurated today by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Nazrul Mancha. She also be inaugurated Biswa Bangla Lok Sanskriti Utsav. The inaugural ceremony was a star-studded affair where the CM felicitated eminent artistes.
While the Bangla Sangeet Mela will be held in as many as 10 venues in the city till December 12, the Biswa Bangla Lok Sanskriti Utsav will be held from December 5 to December 8.
Rabindra Sadan, Sisir Mancha, Rabindra Okakura Bhavan, Phanibhusan Bidya Binod Jatra Manch, Mohor Kunja, Hedua Park, Madhusudan Mukta Mancha, Ektara Mukta Mancha, Deshapriya Park and Rajya Sangeet Academy Mukta Manch will be the venues for the mega event.
More than 5,000 singers and musicians are expected to participate at the gala musical fiesta.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “The music of Bangla has won over the entire world. Our music is our culture, our existence, our rhythm of life, our hope. We are honoured to have been able to facilitate so many artistes today.”
The CM added, “Just like the sound from all the instruments come together to create music, humanity also is built on the spirit of equality.”
