Developmental activities taken up in Paschim Medinipur

Over the last six-and-a-half years, the Trinamool Congress Government has undertaken large-scale developmental activities in Paschim Medinipur.

Tabulated below are the important developments:

Health and Family Welfare

  • Medical college: Medical college being set up in Medinipur
  • Multi/Super-speciality hospitals: 3 set up in Salboni, Debra and Ghatal; another being set up in Belda
  • Fair-price medicine shops: 3 set up in Medinipur, Kharagpur and Ghatal; buying from these fair-price shops has resulted in more than 13.68 lakh people getting discounts of more than Rs 24.66 crore
  • Fair-price diagnostic centres: 2 set up in hospitals in Medinipur and Kharagpur
  • SNSU: 14 sick newborn stabilisation units set up at hospitals in Belda, Chandrakona, Dantan, Debra, Depara, Dwarigeria, Garbeta, Keshiary, Keshpur, Kewakole, Khanduri, Kharagpur, Sabang and Salboni
  • SNCU: 2 sick newborn care units set up at hospitals in Medinipur and Ghatal
  • CCU/HDU: 2 critical care units and high-dependency units set up at hospitals in Medinipur and Ghatal
  • MCH: Mother and Child Hub being set up at Medinipur hospital
  • GNM: Training centre for General Nursing and Midwifery course set up in Ghatal
  • Hospital expansion: Sabang Hospital expanded
  • PHC: 4 primary health centres set up in Medinipur and Kharagpur municipality areas, and in Garbeta-2 block
  • Swasthya Sathi: More than 3.64 lakh people enrolled
  • Sishu Sathi: More than 415 children successfully operated on

 

Education

  • College: 6 government colleges set up in Salboni, Mohanpur, Kharagpur-2, Keshiary, Dantan-2 and Narayangarh blocks
  • ITI: 7 industrial training institutes set up in Pingla, Daspur-2, Garbeta-2, Keshpur, Salboni, Debra and Ghatal blocks; 1 being set up in Narayangarh
  • Polytechnic colleges: 2 set up in Medinipur and Ghatal
  • Utkarsh Bangla: More than 35,000 youths being given skills training
  • Sabooj Sathi: More than 3.3 lakh school children given bicycles
  • Upgrading of schools: 275 Madhyamik schools upgraded to Higher Secondary
  • Mid-Day Meals: Mid-day meals being given in all schools, which has markedly improved attendance
  • Toilets: Separate toilets for boys and girls built in all schools

 

Land Reforms, Agriculture and Animal Resources Development

  • Nijo Griha Nijo Bhumi: More than 14,800 landless families handed over patta, and about 7,000 agricultural and forest land patta handed over
  • Kisan Credit Cards: Almost 87% of eligible farmer families given KCCs
  • Kisan Mandi: 11 set up in Garbeta-1, Garbeta-2, Chandrakona-1, Chandrakona-2, Ghatal, Sabong, Medinipur, Narayangarh, Keshpur, Keshiar and Pingla blocks
  • Hatchlings distributed: More than 16.85 lakh chicken and duck hatchlings distributed for rearing

 

Panchayats and Rural Development

  • MGNREGS (100 Days’ Work Scheme): About 13.68 crore person-days created at an expenditure of more than Rs 3,030 crore
  • Rural housing: About 1.94 lakh people benefitted; on January 29, 2018, it was announced that about 30,000 people would be distributed houses under various schemes
  • Rural roads: About 2,130 km roads built under Grameen Sadak Yojana; another 1,000 km being built/renovated
  • Samabyathi: 13,796 people benefitted from this scheme
  • ODF: Paschim Medinipur has been declared a ‘Nirmal Zila’, that is, open defecation-free (ODF); 4.08 lakh toilets built, which is 100% of the target

 

Minorities’ Development

  • Scholarships: About 3.3 lakh students from minority communities given scholarships worth about Rs 61 crore
  • Swami Vivekananda Swanirbhar Karmasuchi Prakalpa: Youths given loans worth about Rs 13 crore
  • IMDP & MSDP: About Rs 27 crore spent for various schemes under Integrated Minorities Development Programme (IMDP) and Multi-sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) – more than 570 health sub-centres, additional classrooms, anganwadi cnetres, houses, etc.
  • Karmatirtha: 25 Karmatirthas being built to increase employment of local people

 

Backward Classes Welfare Department

  • Shikshashree: More than 3.72 lakh students have received scholarships under the scheme
  • SC/ST/OBC certificates: More than 3.49 lakh people handed over SC/ST/OBC certificates

 

Jangalmahal Unnayan

  • JAP: Under State Government’s Jangalmahal Action Plan, special developmental work being undertaken in 34 blocks in Bankura, Jhargram, Purulia, Paschim Medinipur and Birbhum; Rs 110 crore allocated
  • Jalatirtha: To help in irrigation, building of check dams and water storage tanks being undertaken over 32,000 hectares (ha) at a cost of Rs 500 crore under Jalatirtha Scheme
  • Employment: More than 33,000 youths in the Jangalmahal region enrolled in the Employment Bank got employment in police forces

 

Women and Child Development and Social Welfare

Kanyashree: More than 3.13 lakh girls brought under the ambit of the Kanyashree Scheme

 

Food security

Khadya Sathi: As part of the scheme, almost 96% of the eligible population of Howrah (about 46.6 lakh) being given foodgrains at Rs 2 per kg (or at half the market price)

 

Industry

  • Industrial Parks: 6 Industrial Parks set up – Vidyasagar Industrial Park, Sachak Industrial Park, Kharagpur Industrial Park, Godapiyashal Industrial Park, Goaltore Industrial Park, Kharagpur Industrial Growth Centre
  • MSME: 23 MSME clusters established in the micro, small and medium enterprises sector – among which the important ones are15 MSME clusters, 2 handloom clusters, 6 khadi clusters, Kharagpur IT Park, Jindal Group’s cement factory in Salboni; bank loans worth more than Rs 4,000 crore given

 

PWD and Transport

  • Projects completed: PWD Department has completed more than 143 projects like roads, bridges, etc. by investing about Rs 950 crore
  • Bridges: Bridge built over Panchthupi Canal in Debra
  • Roads: About 1,030 km of roads built/re-built/widened
  • Baitarani: As part of Baitarani Scheme, 42 burning ghats being renovated and 1 electric furnace being constructed
  • Gatidhara: Through Gatidhara Scheme, about 350 youths managed to buy vehicles for commercial use
  • Traffic awareness programmes: Safe Drive Save Life and Slow Drive Save Life traffic awareness programmes have reduced accidents by a significant number

 

Power – Non-renewable and Renewable Energy

Sabar Ghare Alo: Through implementation of Sabar Ghare Alo Scheme, 100% rural electrification achieved

 

Irrigation

  • Dam repair: About 330 km of dams strengthened; river banks of Kansabati river renovated in Debra block
  • Canal repair: Renovation of Keleghai-Kapaleswari-Bagai Canal going on at a cost of Rs 650 crore, to benefit about 4 lakh people in 14 blocks in Paschim and Paschim Medinipur and Jhargram districts; Medinipur Main Canal being renovated at Rs 114 crore
  • Ghatal Master Plan: Flood control plan set up at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore to control floods in Panskura-1 and Panskura-2 blocks and Ghatal region in Paschim Medinipur, to benefit about 17 lakh people

 

Public Health Engineering

Projects completed: Public Health Engineering Department has completed 68 projects at a cost of about Rs 204 crore

 

Forest and Tourism

  • Sabujshree: Saplings given to more than 1.26 lakh newborns (as per the scheme, after crossing 18 years of age, the tree will be sold and the student’s education funded out of that money)
  • Tourism: Development of Gongoni Canyon, including setting up of a series of tourist cottages named Ganasundari; Botanical Garden, Spice Garden, Orchid House, etc. set up in Hijli Eco-Park; beautification of Gandhi Ghat in Medinipur, and the area from Kharagpur College to Chowrangi

Labour

  • Samajik Suraksha Yojana: About 4.16 lakh workers from the unorganised sector documented – of these, about 1.41 lakh beneficiaries have received benefits to the tune of more than Rs 55 crore
  • Yuvashree: About 6,000 youths given allowances under this scheme

 

Self-Help Group and Self-Employment

  • Anandadhara: About 31,000 self-help groups set up
  • Swami Vivekananda Swanirbhar Karmasuchi Prakalpa: About 16,000 ventures approved, for which a total grant of about Rs 106 crore given

 

Urban Development and Town and Country Planning

  • Municipality development: 7 municipalities in Paschim Medinipur district spent more than Rs 220 crore for developmental schemes
  • Urban housing for the poor: About 9,338 people benefitted

 

Information and Culture

  • Lokprasar Prakalpa: More than 12,000 folk artistes getting retainer fee and pension
  • Rabindra Bhavan: Dantan Rabindra Bhavan renovated

 

Housing

  • For the economically disadvantaged: About 28,000 people benefitted as part of Gitanjali and other schemes
  • Pathasathi: 3 Pathasathi motels set up for travellers (also resulting in employment for local people) in Debra, Kharagpur and Narayangarh

 

Youth Affairs and Sports

  • Funds for clubs: More than 1,100 cubs given more than Rs 37.80 crore for promoting sports
  • Sporting infrastructure: About 251 multi-gyms and 108 mini indoor stadiums set up at a cost of about Rs 26.3 crore
  • Stadiums: Salboni Stadium built; new stadium in Kharagpur being built
  • Jangalmahal Cup: Jangalmahal Cup being organised every year to identify and celebrate talent

Paschimanchal Unnayan

  • Developmental schemes: Paschimanchal Unnayan Department undertaking lot of developmental schemes related to water conservation, irrigation, agriculture, education, health, road construction, drinking water, etc
  • Water conservation: For water conservation, Paschimanchal Unnayan Department has built multiple check dams in Jangalmahal

 

Law and order

  • New division: Medinipur Division set up
  • Police stations: 2 women’s police stations set up in Medinipur and Kharagpur

 

পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার উন্নয়ন- এক নজরে

রাজ্য ও অন্যান্য জেলার সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নয়ন ঘটেছে পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলায়।

স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ

  • মেদিনীপুরে গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে নতুন মেডিকেল কলেজ।
  • এই জেলার শালবনী, ডেবরা ও ঘাটালে গড়ে উঠেছে ৩টি মাল্টি-সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল।
  • মেদিনীপুর, খড়গপুর ও ঘাটাল হাসপাতালে ৩টি ন্যায্য মুল্যের ঔষধের দোকান চালু হয়ে গেছে। জেলার এই সকল দোকান থেকে ঔষধ কেনার ফলে ১৩ লক্ষ ৬৮ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ, ২৪ কোটি ৬৬ লক্ষ টাকারও বেশি ছাড় পেয়েছেন।
  • বর্ধমান হাসপাতালে ১টি ন্যায্য মুল্যের ডায়াগ্নস্টিক পরিষেবা চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • এই জেলায় ১৪টি SNSU চালু হয়ে গেছে (বেলদা, চন্দ্রকোনা, দাতঁন, ডেবরা, দেপাড়া, দ্বারিগেরিয়া, গড়বেতা, কেশিয়ারি,কেশপুর, কেওয়াকোলে, খান্ডুরি, খড়গপুর, সবং এবং শালবনী হাসপাতালে)।
  • মেদিনীপুর ও ঘাটাল হাসপাতালে ২টি SNCU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • মেদিনীপুর ও ঘাটাল হাসপাতালে ২টি CCU/HDU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • মেদিনীপুর হাসপাতালে গড়ে তোলা ১টি Mother & Child Hub।
  • ঘাটালে গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে একটি জিএনএম ট্রেনিং সেন্টার।
  • সবং হাসপাতালের সম্প্রসারণ করা হয়েছে।
  • মেদিনীপুর ও খড়গপুর পৌরসভা এবং গড়বেতা-২ ব্লকে গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে ৪ টি প্রাথমিক স্বাস্থ্যকেন্দ্র।
  • ‘স্বাস্থ্যসাথী’ প্রকল্পে’ এই জেলায় প্রায় ৩ লক্ষ ৬৪ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন।
  • ‘শিশুসাথী’ প্রকল্পে, এই জেলার ৪১৫টিরও বেশি বাচ্চার সফল অস্ত্রোপচার করা হয়েছে।

 

শিক্ষা

  • এই জেলার, শালবনী, মোহনপুর, খড়গপুর-২, কেশিয়ারী, দাঁতন-২ এবং নারায়নগড়ে ৬টি নতুন সরকারি কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • পিংলা, দাসপুর-২, গড়বেতা-১, কেশপুর, শালবনী, ডেবরা এবং ঘাটালে ৭টি নতুন আই.টি.আই কলেজ নির্মান করা হয়েছে। এছাড়া, নারায়নগড়ে ১ নতুন আই.টি.আই কলেজ নির্মান করা হচ্ছে।
  • মেদিনীপুর ও ঘাটালে ২টি পলিটেকনিক কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • ‘উৎকর্ষ বাংলা’ কর্মসুচিতে, জেলার ৩৫ হাজারেরও বেশি যুবক-যুবতীকে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায়, ৩ লক্ষ ৩০ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র-ছাত্রীকে ‘সবুজ সাথী’ প্রকল্পে সাইকেল প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • গত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে এই জেলায়, প্রায় ২৭৫টি মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়কে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় স্তরে উন্নীত করা হয়েছে।
  • সব স্কুলে মিড-ডে মিল চলছে, যার ফলে পুষ্টি এবং উপস্থিতির হার বেড়েছে এবং স্কুল-ছুট ছাত্র-ছাত্রীর সংখ্যা কমেছে।
  • প্রায় সব বিদ্যালয়ে ছেলে ও মেয়েদের জন্য পৃথক শৌচাগার নির্মিত হয়েছে।

 

ভূমি সংস্কার, কৃষি ও পশুপালন

  • জেলার প্রায় ১৪ হাজার ৮০০-রও বেশি যোগ্য ভূমিহীন পরিবারের হাতে ‘নিজ গৃহ নিজ ভূমি’ প্রকল্পে পাট্টা তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে। এছাড়া, ৭ হাজারেরও বেশি কৃষি ও বনাধিকার পাট্টা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলার, প্রায় ৮৭% কৃষক পরিবারকে কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ডের আওতাভুক্ত করা হয়েছে। বাকীদেরও খুব দ্রুত কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড প্রদান করা হচ্ছে।
  • এই জেলার গড়বেতা-১, গড়বেতা-২, চন্দ্রকোনা, চন্দ্রকোনা-১, ঘাটাল, সবং, মেদিনীপুর, নারায়নগড়, কেশপুর, কেশিয়ারি ও পিংলাতে ১১ টি ‘কিষাণ মান্ডি’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রাণী সম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তর, ১৬ লক্ষ ৮৫ হাজারেরও বেশি হাঁস ও মুরগীর বাচ্চা বিতরণ করেছে।

 

পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন

  • এই জেলায় ১০০-দিনের কাজে, ৩০৩০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যয় করে প্রায় ১৩ কোটি ৬৮ লক্ষ শ্রম দিবস সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।
  • জেলার প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৯৪ হাজার মানুষ গ্রামীণ আবাসন যোজনায় উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • এই জেলার আরও প্রায় ৩০ হাজার জন উপভোক্তাকে বাড়ি তৈরির সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় গ্রামীণ সড়ক যোজনায় ২১৩০ কি.মি. রাস্তা নির্মিত হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় আরও প্রায় ১০০০ কি.মি. রাস্তা নির্মাণ/সংস্কারের সূচনা করা হয়েছে।
  • ‘সমব্যাথী’ প্রকল্পে জেলার প্রায় ১৩ হাজার ৭৯৬ জন উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • জেলায় ‘মিশন নির্মল বাংলা’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ ৮ হাজার শৌচালয় নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে- যা লক্ষ্যমাত্রার ১০০%।

 

সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়ন

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলায় প্রায় ৩ লক্ষ ৩০ হাজার সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্র-ছাত্রীকে প্রায় ৬১ কোটি টাকার স্কলারশিপ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া, স্বনির্ভরতার জন্য সংখ্যালঘু যুবক-যুবতীদের, প্রায় ১৩ কোটি টাকা ঋণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • IMDP ও MSDP-তে, প্রায় ২৭ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের উন্নয়নে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প রূপায়িত করা হয়েছে।
  • এই দুটি প্রকল্পে, জেলায় ৫৭০টিরও বেশি হেল্‌থ সাব-সেন্টার, অতিরিক্ত শ্রেণী কক্ষ, অঙ্গনওয়ারী কেন্দ্র, বাসগৃহ ইত্যাদি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় ২৫টি ‘কর্মতীর্থ’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

অনগ্রসর কল্যাণ ও আদিবাসী উন্নয়ন

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলায় ৩ লক্ষ ৭২ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ‘শিক্ষাশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে সহায়তা পেয়েছে।
  • জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ৩ লক্ষ ৪৯ হাজারেরও বেশি SC/ST/OBC Certificate প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

নারী ও শিশু এবং সমাজকল্যাণ

এই জেলায়, ৩ লক্ষ ১৩ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্রী ‘কন্যাশ্রী’র আওতায় এসেছে।

 

খাদ্য সুরক্ষা কর্মসুচী- খাদ্য সাথী প্রকল্প

এই জেলার ১০০% যোগ্য মানুষকে (প্রায় ৪৬ লক্ষ ৬০ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষকে), ২/- টাকা কেজি দরে (অথবা বাজার দরের অর্দেক দামে) খাদ্যশস্য দেওয়া হচ্ছে- যা জেলার মোট জনসংখ্যার প্রায় ৯৬%।

 

শিল্প

  • জেলায় ৬টি Industrial Park তৈরি করা হয়েছে (বিদ্যাসাগর ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক, সাচক ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক, খড়গপুর ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক, গোদাপিয়াশাল ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক, গোয়ালতোড় ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক, খড়গপুর ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল গ্রোথ সেন্টার)
  • জেলায় ক্ষুদ্র, ছোট ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগের ২৩টি ক্লাস্টার গড়ে উঠেছে।
    এগুলির মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হল-
    • ১৫ টি MSME ক্লাস্টার
    • ২টি Handloom ক্লাস্টার
    • ৬টি Khadi ক্লাস্টার প্রভৃতি
    খড়গপুরে আই.টি পার্ক গড়ে উঠেছে।
  • শালবনীতে গড়ে উঠেছে জিন্দাল গোষ্ঠীর একটি সিমেন্ট ফ্যাক্টরি।
  • ক্ষুদ্র শিল্পের ক্ষেত্রে অবিভক্ত বর্ধমান জেলায় ৪০০০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যাঙ্ক ঋণ প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

পূর্ত ও পরিবহন

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলায় পূর্ত দপ্তর ২১৪ টিরও বেশি রাস্তাঘাট, ব্রীজ ইত্যাদি প্রকল্প রূপায়ণের কাজ হাতে নিয়েছে, যার মধ্যে ১৪৩টিরও বেশি প্রকল্পের কাজ প্রায় ৯৫০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ইতিমধ্যেই সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। এর ফলে, প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হবেন। বাকি প্রকল্পের কাজ খুব শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।
  • ডেবরায় পাঁচথুপী খালের ওপর ব্রীজ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • জেলার সড়ক ব্যবস্থা উন্নয়নে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হচ্ছে।জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, প্রায় ১০৩০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মাণ/পুর্ননির্মাণ/সম্প্রসারণ ও উন্নতিকরণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হল-‘বৈতরনী’ প্রকল্পে, ৪২ টি শ্মশান ঘাটের উন্নয়ন সহ ১টি বিদ্যুতের চুল্লি বসানোর কাজ চলছে।
  • এই জেলার প্রায় ৩৫০ জন যুবক-যুবতী গাড়ি কেনার ঋণ পেয়ে আত্মনির্ভর হয়েছেন।
  • হাতে নেওয়া হয়েছে Safe Drive Save Life এবং Slow Drive Save Life কর্মসূচি। ফলে, উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে কমেছে দুর্ঘটনা এবং হতাহতের সংখ্যা।

 

বিদ্যুৎ ও অচিরাচরিত শক্তি

সমগ্র জেলায় ‘সবার ঘরে আলো’ প্রকল্পে ১০০% গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।

 

সেচ

  • জেলার প্রায় ৩৩০ কিমি দৈর্ঘের বাঁধ সংরক্ষণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • প্রায় ৬৫০ কোটি তাকা ব্যয়ে কেলেঘাই- কপালেশ্বরী- বাগাই খাল সংস্কারের কাজ চলছে। এই প্রকল্পে, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর ও ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলার ১৪টি ব্লকের প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ মানুষ উপকৃত হবেন।
  • ঘাটাল এলাকা সহ জেলার মোট ১২ টি ব্লকে বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণের জন্য প্রায় ২ হাজার কোটি টাকার ‘ঘাটাল মাস্টার প্ল্যান’ তৈরি হয়েছে। এটি রূপায়িত হলে এই বিস্তীর্ণ অঞ্চলের প্রায় ১৭ লক্ষ মানুষ প্রতি বছর বন্যার সমস্যা থেকে মুক্তি পাবেন।
    প্রায় ১১৪ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে মেদিনীপুরে খাল সংস্কারের কাজ চলছে।
  • ডেবরা ব্লকে কংসাবতী নদীর পাড় সংস্কার করা হয়েছে।

 

জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরী

বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ১০৮টি জলপ্রকল্পের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে, এর মধ্যে প্রায় ২০৪ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ৬৮টির কাজ সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। এর ফলে, জেলার প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হচ্ছেন।বাকী জলপ্রকল্পগুলির কাজ শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।

 

বন ও পর্যটন

  • ‘সবুজশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে, ১ লক্ষ ২৬ হাজারেরও বেশি সদ্যোজাত শিশুকে মুল্যবান গাছের চারা দেওয়া হয়েছে। ১৮ বছর উত্তীর্ণ হলে, গাছ বিক্রির টাকায় শিশুটির পড়াশুনা, বিয়ে ইত্যাদির খরচ মেটানো যাবে।
  • হাতে নেওয়া হয়েছে গণ্‌গণী নদীখাতের উন্নয়ন। এখানে ‘গণসুন্দরী’ নামের একাধিক টুরিস্ট কটেজ গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।
  • হিজলী ইকো-পার্কে বোটানিকাল গার্ডেন, স্পাইস গার্ডেন, অর্কিড হাউস ইত্যাদি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • মেদিনীপুর গান্ধীঘাট ও খড়গপুর কলেজ থেকে চৌরঙ্গী পর্যন্ত এলাকার সৌন্দর্যায়ন করা হয়েছে।

 

শ্রম

  • এই জেলায় ‘সামাজিক সুরক্ষা যোজনা’য়, প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ ১৬ হাজার অসংঘটিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিকরা নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন। এখনো পর্যন্ত, প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৪১ হাজার জন উপভোক্তা, ৫৫ কোটি টাকারও বেশি সহায়তা পেয়েছেন।
  • ‘যুবশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে, এই জেলায় প্রায় ৬ হাজার যুবক-যুবতী উৎসাহ ভাতা পাচ্ছেন।

স্বনির্ভর দল ও স্বনিযুক্তি কর্মসূচী

  • ‘আনন্দধারা’ প্রকল্পে, প্রায় ৩১ হাজার স্বনির্ভর দল গঠিত হয়েছে।
  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ‘স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ স্বনির্ভর কর্মসূচী’ প্রকল্পে, প্রায় ১৬ হাজার উদ্যোগকে অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং প্রায় ১০৬ কোটি টাকা অনুদান প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন

  • জেলায় ৭টি মিউনিসিপালিটি, ২২০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি পরিকল্পনা খাতে ব্যয় করেছে।
  • শহরাঞ্চলে গরীবদের জন্য বাসস্থান প্রকল্পে, প্রায় ৯ হাজার ৩৩৮ জন মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।

 

তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতি

  • এই জেলায় ১২ হাজারেরও বেশি লোকশিল্পী, ‘লোকপ্রসার প্রকল্পে’ বহাল ভাতা এবং পেনশন পাচ্ছেন।
  • দাঁতন রবীন্দ্রভবনকে নবরূপে সাজিয়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

আবাসন

  • জেলায় আর্থিক ভাবে দুর্বল মানুষদের জন্যে গীতাঞ্জলী ও অন্যান্য প্রকল্পে প্রায় ২৮ হাজার মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • ভ্রমনার্থীদের সুবিধা এবং স্থানীয় মানুষদের কর্মসংস্থানের জন্য ডেবরা, খড়গপুর এবং নারায়নগড়ে ৩টি ‘পথসাথী’-মোটেল গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

ক্রীড়া ও যুব কল্যাণ

  • ক্রীড়ার মান উন্নয়নে জেলায় ১১০০টিরও বেশি ক্লাবকে ৩৭ কোটি ৮০ লক্ষ টাকারও বেশি অর্থ সাহাজ্য করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রায় ২৫১টি মাল্টিজিম ও ১০৮টি মিনি ইন্ডোর স্টেডিয়াম গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে প্রায় ২৬ কোটি ৩০ লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে।
  • গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে শালবনী স্টেডিয়াম।
  • খড়গপুরে একটি নতুন স্টেডিয়াম গড়ে উঠেছে।
  • নতুন প্রতিভার অন্বেষণে নিয়মিত ভাবে আয়োজিত হচ্ছে বার্ষিক ‘জঙ্গলমহল কাপ’ ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতা।

 

পশ্চিমাঞ্চল উন্নয়ন

  • পশ্চিমাঞ্চল উন্নয়ন বিষয়ক দপ্তর জলসংরক্ষণ, সেচ, কৃষি, শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য, সড়ক নির্মাণ, পানীয় জলের ব্যবস্থা প্রভৃতি প্রকল্পগুলি অগ্রাধিকার ভিত্তিতে রূপায়ণ করছে।
  • জল সংরক্ষণের জন্য,পশ্চিমাঞ্চল উন্নয়ন বিষয়ক দপ্তর, জঙ্গলমহল এলাকায় একাধিক চেক ড্যাম নির্মাণের কাজ সম্পন্ন করেছে।

 

আইন- শৃঙ্খলা

  • গঠন করা হয়েছে নতুন মেদিনীপুর বিভাগ।
  • এই জেলায় স্থাপন করা হয়েছে নতুন মেদিনীপুর ও খড়গপুর মহিলা থানা।
