CII to set up multi-skill centre in Darjeeling
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has decided to set up a multi-skill centre in Darjeeling, keeping in mind the huge potential of establishing various types of businesses in the hill town and surrounding regions.
Announcing the decision during the recent Darjeeling Business Summit, the director general of CII said the centre will initially deliver training in hospitality, beauty, and wellness and healthcare.
The two-day Darjeeling Business Summit was hugely successful, leading to promises of investment worth Rs 2,000 crore. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and was attended by several bigwigs of industry.
The director general conveyed the CII’s deep appreciation to the Chief Minister for her invaluable guidance, support and encouragement towards setting up business and employment opportunities.
He also said that since the region has huge potential in agriculture, floriculture and horticulture, CII’s Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence is ready to work with the administration to develop a sustainable model. This would include finding ways for better market linkages, increasing productivity and quality, and growing better varieties.
Considering the fact that many parts of Darjeeling face water scarcity following increase in demand, the CII will apply its water scanning tool for developing catchment areas.
দার্জিলিঙে দক্ষতা বিকাশ কেন্দ্র গড়বে সিআইআই
দার্জিলিঙে তৈরী হবে একটি দক্ষতা বিকাশ কেন্দ্র। সদ্য-সমাপ্ত হিল বিজনেস সামিটে এই প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছে সিআইআই। প্রাথমিকভাবে হসপিটালিটি ম্যানেজমেন্ট, বিউটিশিয়ান, আরোগ্য ও অনাময়ের প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হবে এই কেন্দ্রে।
যেহেতু পাহাড়াঞ্চলে কৃষি, ফুলচাষ, উদ্যানপালনের ক্ষেত্রে অনেক সম্ভাবনা আছে, সিআইআই-এর ‘ফুড অ্যান্ড এগ্রিকালচার সেন্টার ফর এক্সসেলেন্স’ স্থানীয় প্রশাসনের সঙ্গে একটি দীর্ঘমেয়াদি মডেল নির্মাণের ব্যাপারে কাজ করবে। এর ফলে বাড়বে উৎপাদন ক্ষমতা, গুনমান এবং বিপণনের পরিধিও।
দার্জিলিঙের জলকষ্ট মেটানোর জন্য প্রযুক্তিগত সাহায্যও করতে চায় সিআইআই। হিল বিজনেস সামিটে সিআইআইয়ের তরফে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করা হয়।
