Chief Minister vows to protect rights of Tribals

“The tribals had fought against illegal possession of land which we have read in history. We also fought against illegal possession of land in Singur and Nandigram. Fighting for the farmer has made us proud”, said Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee  while addressing a gathering at the Metro Channel on the occasion of Hul Divas on Saturday. Paying tribute to the 1857 Santhal rebellion, Chief Minister said, “My Government is here to protect the rights of the tribals “. Stating that the Government was building houses for tribals in Jangalmahal, she said, “Nijo Bhumi Nijo Griha project is being implemented. My Government will not allow anyone to snatch their land”.
