Chief Minister says fact-finding committee to take final decision

Chief Minister says fact-finding committee to take final decision
West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee convenes a meeting with the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) leaders at the Writers' Building today.
Both the leaders discuss various issues relating to development in the Hills during an-hour long meeting. However, Chief Minister maintained that the West Bengal government had set up a fact-finding committee to look into all the grievances and suggested the GTA leaders to submit in writing whatever they want to convey on the issue.
Incidentally,  the GJM was unhappy over the Justice Shymal Sen Committee Report which allocated five new mouzas to be included in the GTA, as against the demand of the GJM that demanded 398 mouzas instead. In this context, it may not be out of context to mention that the Chief Minister during her meeting with the GJM leaders a fortnight ago at the Writers` Building had appointed a three-member-administrative-committee to review the decision of Justice Shyamal Sen's committee.
However, there was no decision taken on the GTA elections and that the issue will be discussed at the GTA level in a core committee meeting shortly.
The GTA election is going to take place on July 29 and the state government had issued notification for it on Monday.
