Career Guidance Centres to come up in 3 Kolkata libraries
Three libraries in Kolkata are getting Career Guidance Centres, courtesy the State Mass Education and Library Department, to facilitate students who are appearing for competitive examinations like West Bengal Civil Services (WBCS). The department is also trying to rope in teachers who can guide these students for competitive examinations.
The three libraries that will have this infrastructure are located in Ultadanga, Ballygunge and Khidderpore. There are plans to extend this facility to some district libraries as well in the future.
The Library Department will equip these libraries with books and other relevant study materials so that the aspiring students can spend time in the library, preparing for their examination. It has been seen that many students do not have a conducive environment at home for making preparations, and hence the decision was taken.

কলকাতার তিনটি গ্রন্থাগারে চালু হবে কেরিয়ার গাইডেন্স কেন্দ্র
জনশিক্ষা ও গ্রন্থাগার দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে কলকাতার তিনটি গ্রন্থাগারে চালু হবে কেরিয়ার গাইডেন্স কেন্দ্র। ওয়েস্ট বেঙ্গল সিভিল সার্ভিসেসের মত বিভিন্ন পরীক্ষার জন্য প্রশিক্ষণ দেবে এই কেন্দ্রগুলি। জনশিক্ষা ও গ্রন্থাগার দপ্তর চেষ্টা করছে কিছু অভিজ্ঞ শিক্ষককেও এই উদ্যোগে সামিল করতে।
যে তিনটি গ্রন্থাগারে এই কেন্দ্রগুলি গড়ে উঠবে, সেগুলি হল, উল্টোডাঙ্গা, বালিগঞ্জ ও খিদিরপুর। ভবিষ্যতে জেলার গ্রন্থাগারগুলিতেও এই কেন্দ্র খোলা হবে।
একজন পরীক্ষার্থী যাতে অনেকটা সময় এই গ্রন্থাগারে কাটাতে পারে, তা নিশ্চিত করতে তাদের দরকারি সবরকম বই মজুত রাখা হবে এই গ্রন্থাগারগুলিতে।
