Budget Session 2019 – Week 7 | MPs in both Houses spoke on several important Bills

The seventh week of the Budget Session saw Trinamool Congress MPs make their party’s stand clear on various important Bills, including The Dam Safety Bill, 2019, The National Medical Commission Bill, 2019, The Code on Wages Bill, 2019, The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2019, The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2019, The Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Bill, 2019, The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 and The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Bill, 2019.

Several issues of importance were raised during the Zero Hour, that included the Centre’s not clearing of two proposals of the Bengal Govt (including changing the name of the State to Bangla) and delaying the bringing of the Bill on the protection of personal data, the tragic death of the renowned founder of a coffee chain and the attack on a retired army personnel in Uttar Pradesh.

Another important aspect of the happenings of the week was the MPs in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha raising several Points of Order regarding the functioning of their respective Houses.

On July 30, the party staged a protest against the Central Government at the Parliament premises against of the attacks on a retired army officer and on the Unnao rape victim.
