Both industrial & domestic power consumers have increased in Bangla
Due to the relentless effort over the last seven years by the Trinamool Congress Government, the state of the power sector in Bengal is now very bright.
Not only have the number of electricity consumers in both the industrial and domestic sectors increased, Bangla is now a power surplus State too. These facts were revealed by the State Power Minister recently at a programme organised by National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BNCCI).
With ‘Power to Everyone’, a slogan coined by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after coming to power in 2011, as its motto, the department has done exemplary work over the last seven years.
The number of industrial consumers has gone up from 78,074 in 2011 to 99,505 now while the number of domestic consumers has increased from 86 lakh in 2011 to 1.2 crore.
