Bengal has India’s 2nd highest employability, says India Skills Report 2019

That the education system of Bengal is one of the best in the country was confirmed once again when the India Skills Report 2019 placed Bengal as second among all States in terms of employability.
The nationwide skills survey took the opinions of more than three lakh students from 29 States and seven union territories through a work, employability and skills test conducted between July 15 and October 30.
The students were tested on the subjects of English, critical thinking skill, numerical aptitude, domain knowledge and behavioural competence.
Besides the premier universities, many of which have an illustrious heritage, the Trinamool Congress Government, in its more than seven years in power, has set up 22 universities and 48 colleges. Five more have already been planned, with the foundation stone of Mahatma Gandhi University laid recently.
The first Women’s University of eastern India has been established in Diamond Harbour. Educational hubs are being set up in Kalyani, Kalimpong and Kurseong. The Biswa Bangla University is being established in Bolpur, and a new Green University will soon be set up in Tarakeswar. Another university will be set up in Mongpu in Darjeeling district.
