Bengal Govt to give paddy transplanting machines to farmers
The Bengal Government has decided to distribute paddy sowing machines, called paddy transplanting machines, to farmers, which would make their job much easier. This was announced by the State Agriculture Minister recently.
According to the results of a pilot project completed recently in the districts of Cooch Behar, Malda and Murshidabad (Raghunathganj block), a bigha of land can be sowed in just 15 minutes.
This is only the latest in the series of developmental projects that the Trinamool Congress Government has been implementing over the last seven years. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has always held the view that welfare of farmers should be a key component of governance for the State.
As a result, Bengal has been recognised by the Central Government as the best in various aspects of agriculture.
