Bengal Govt comes up with ‘Centre of Innovation’ for student innovators
Bengal Government’s Information Technology and Electronics (IT&E) Department has decided to give fresh graduates rent-free space for churning out ideas and designing innovative models at a proposed Centre of Innovation at the IT park being built at Bantala in Kolkata.
The blueprint for the Centre of Innovation has already been prepared. It will be functional from the financial year 2018-19. It will have top academicians, scientists and industry members as its mentors.
The screening process for the would-be innovators will be done by a team of experts from the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kalyani, led by the director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.
Interested graduates will have to submit a short project report and its merit and quality will determine the candidate’s selection. As per the government policy, projects that are good for commoners will be encouraged. The government’s vision is to improve the living standard of the masses.
The government will also consider offering scholarships for the best and the brightest.

বানতলায় ‘সেন্টারে অফ ইনোভেশন’ তৈরী করছে রাজ্য সরকার
রাজ্য সরকারের তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি দপ্তর বানতলায় একটি ‘সেন্টারে অফ ইনোভেশন’ তৈরী করছে। এই কেন্দ্রের ব্লু প্রিন্ট ইতিমধ্যেই তৈরি হয়ে গেছে। আগামী ২০১৮-১৯ অর্থবর্ষ থেকে যাত্রা শুরু করবে কেন্দ্রটি। এখানে শীর্ষস্থানীয় শিক্ষাবিদ, বৈজ্ঞানিক, শিল্পপতিরা পরামর্শদাতা হিসেবে থাকবেন।
প্রযুক্তিবিদ্যায় স্নাতকদের এই কেন্দ্রে নিঃশুল্ক জায়গা দেবে রাজ্য সরকার। যে সব স্নাতকরা উদ্ভাবনের মাধ্যমে নিজেদের প্রতিভাকে তুলে ধরতে চায়, তাদের জন্য স্কলারশিপের ব্যবস্থাও থাকছে। ইচ্ছুক স্নাতকদের একটি প্রোজেক্ট রিপোর্ট জমা দিতে হবে যার ওপর ভিত্তি করে তাদের বাছাই করা হবে।
একটি বিশেষজ্ঞ দল এই স্নাতকদের আবেদনপত্র বিচার করবে। এই দলে থাকবেন আইআইআইটি কল্যাণীর বিশেষজ্ঞরা এবং নেতৃত্ব দেবেন আইআইটি খড়গপুরের ডিরেক্টর।
জনকল্যাণে কাজে লাগবে এমন প্রজেক্টকে প্রাধান্য দেওয়া হবে।
