Jhargram will have a university soon: Bengal CM

Bengal Chief Minister inaugurated a slew of developmental projects at a public meeting in Jhargram today. She also laid the foundation stones for numerous projects and distributed benefits of various government schemes.

The CM announced that from students can pursue education in Ol-Chiki medium till graduation. She also said a university will be set up in Jhargram district. She also thanked everyone for maintaining peace and harmony during the festive season.

Highlights of the CM’s speech:

• Jhargram is a new district. We have fulfilled a long-standing demand of the people. We are taking every measure possible for the development of this region.
• Three multi-super-speciality hospitals have been formed in Jhargram, Gopiballavpur and Nayagram.
• A nursing centre has also been opened along with a unit for children.
• Three colleges have been set up. We have set up three it is at Binpur I, Binpur II and Nayagram blocks. Foundation stones have been laid for three more ITIs.
• Our actions speak louder than words.
• There was a time when fear ruled in this region because of the Maoists. In my tenure as Chief Minister, I I have come to Jangalmahal many times and restored peace.
• Girls and youths have been empowered. Youths are taking interest in sports. We have started the Jangalmahal Cup; we are encouraging many cultural events in the region.
• We are empowering folk artistes; we are giving them all cooperation. Our Lok Prasar Prakalpa covers 1.84 lakh folk artistes.
• We celebrate Tusu Utsav and Karam Puja with equal fervour, like other festivals.
• Now you can take the West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) examination in Santhali language.
• Textbooks in Ol Chiki script are available till class X. From now, we will allow Ol-Chiki to be the medium of instruction till graduation. In the future, a university would be opened where the medium of instruction will be Ol Chiki.
• We will set up a university in Jhargram district soon.
• We give loans worth Rs 20 lakh to students to pursue higher education in foreign countries.
• We have initiated the Kanyashree Scheme which has empowered 41 lakh girls. My best wishes to all girl children on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child.
• Under Sabuj Sathi Scheme, 70 lakh bicycles will be distributed by the end of this year.
• Among other schemes for the young, we have Yuvashree, Sabujshree and Chishyshree.
• People receive the benefits of various schemes of our government are irrespective caste, creed and religion.
• 60 lakh families have received direct benefits today. In this district, 90 per cent people have received some form of direct benefit from the government.
• We have also hiked the remuneration for ICDS health workers even though the Centre had stopped funds for this scheme.
• We have secured jobs for even contractual workers and have included them in the health insurance scheme, Swasthya Sathi.
• I had conducted a ‘Janasanjog Yatra’ from Belpahari in 1993. I had seen people so poor that they ate insect eggs. After coming to power, we started giving rice at Rs 2 per kg to people.
• Students in primary schools receive school uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, shoes and school bags for free.
• We have the Sabujshree Scheme for newborn babies and on the other, Baitarani Scheme for conducting the last rites/burials of the deceased.
• We are doing everything possible despite our heavy debt burden. Still some people engage in slander and conspiracies.
• Where were they when people were afraid to even step out of their homes? Where were they when people didn’t have food to eat?
• Constructive criticism is welcome, not negativity and slander.
• Peace has been restored in the Hills. We won’t tolerate attempts to stoke up violence.
• Students are our assets for the future. We must bring Adivasis to the mainstream. They have a role to play in getting Bengal back its glory, in making Bengal famous all over the world.
• The administration must focus on reaching out to people. Listen to them and take their feedback, and serve them well.
• I was always with you. I am with you. And I will continue to be on your side.

ঝাড়গ্রামে নতুন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হবেঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

নতুন জেলা ঝাড়গ্রাম সফরের দ্বিতীয় দিনে আজ এক জনসভা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। ঝাড়গ্রামের রাজ কলেজ মাঠের এই জনসভা থেকে নানা প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন ও শিলান্যাস করলেন তিনি।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী আজ সবুজ সাথী সাইকেল প্রদানও করেন। এছাড়াও, কন্যাশ্রী, যুবশ্রী, বাংলার আবাস যোজনা, লোকপ্রসার সহ আরও অনেক পরিষেবা প্রদান করবেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশঃ-

• ঝাড়গ্রাম নতুন জেলা হয়েছে এপ্রিল মাসে, মানুষের দীর্ঘদিনের দাবি ছিল এই জেলা।
• এখানে হাসপাতাল, আই টি আই, ৩ টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল হয়েছে,লালগড়ে নার্সিং সেন্টার, ৩ টি নতুন কলেজ তৈরি হয়েছে, ঝাড়গ্রাম রাজ মহিলা কলেজে পড়াশুনা শুরু হয়েছে। আজ প্রায় ৪৫০-৫০০ কোটি টাকার প্রকল্পের শিলান্যাস ও উদ্বোধন করা হল।আমাদের সরকার কথা কম বলে কাজ করে বেশি।
• আগে মানুষ জঙ্গলমহলে আসতে ভয় পেত, আমি নিজে আসতে চাইলে প্রশাসন থেকে বারণ করা হত। বলা হত মাওবাদিরা আছে মেরে ফেলবে।বিপদের দিনে যখন এখানে কেউ ছিল না তখন আমি এখানে বারবার এসেছি।
• আমরা বলেছিলাম, আমাদের সরকার এলে আমরা শান্তি ফেরাব, আজ ঝাড়গ্রামে শান্তি ফিরে এসেছে। আজ ছাত্র ছাত্রীরা পড়াশোনা করে খেলাধুলো করে, নিরাপদে ঘুরে বেড়াতে পারে। আমরা জঙ্গলমহল কাপ শুরু করেছি। আদিবাসীদের জন্য এখন বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠান হয়।
• আমরা টুসু, ভাদু, করম সব উৎসবই পালন করি। আদিবাসীদের আমরা পেনশন দিই যা আর কোন রাজ্যে দেওয়া হয় না। কেন্দু পাতা সংগ্রহকারীরা ৬০ বছর বয়স হলে পেনশন পায়। আদিবাসীদের ধামসা মাদল দেওয়া হয়েছে। সাঁওতালি ভাষায় পড়ানো হচ্ছে,অল চিকি ভাষা স্কুলে পড়ানো হয়। এখন থেকে স্নাতক স্তর পর্যন্ত অল চিকি ভাষাও পড়ানো হবে।
• অনেকে অনেক কথা বলেছে, কিন্তু কোন কাজ করেনি। শিক্ষাশ্রী, কন্যাশ্রী, সবুজ সাথী, যুবশ্রী প্রকল্প চালু হয়েছে
• ৭০ লক্ষ সাইকেল দেওয়া হয়ে গেছে বিনামূল্যে।
• আজ আন্তর্জাতিক শিশুকন্যা দিবস। সব কন্যা সন্তানদের অভিনন্দন জানাচ্ছি তারা আরও এগিয়ে যাক। প্রায় ৬০ হাজার পরিবার আজ বিভিন্ন সুবিধা পাবে, এই জেলার ৯০ ভাগ মানুষের কাছে পরিষেবা পৌঁছে দিয়েছে এই সরকার।
• কেন্দ্র আইসিডিএস, আশা’র টাকা বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে। ১৯৯৩ সালে বেলপাহাড়ি থেকে জন সংযোগ যাত্রা করেছিলাম, তখন মানুষের খাবার ছিল না। আমাদের সরকার ক্ষমতায় আসার পর ২ টাকা কিলো চাল দিচ্ছে, বাচ্চা জন্মালে তাকে একটা গাছ দেওয়া হচ্ছে সবুজশ্রী প্রকল্পে।
• বিনামূল্যে জুতো,ব্যাগ,খাতা, ড্রেস দেওয়া হচ্ছে।সিপিএমের লক্ষ লক্ষ টাকার দেনা শোধ করতে হয় তা সত্ত্বেও আমরা এত কাজ করেছি। লোক শিল্পীদের কাজ দেওয়া হয়, তারা আর্থিক সাহায্য পায়।
• বৈতরনি প্রকল্পে শেষকৃত্যের জন্য ২০০০ টাকা দেওয়া হচ্ছে, শশ্মান গুলির সংস্কার করা হচ্ছে। জন্ম থেকে মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত প্রকল্প চালু করেছে এই সরকার। আজ মানুষের নুন্যতম প্রয়োজন সরকার মেটাচ্ছে।
• তা সত্ত্বেও কিছু লোক মিথ্যা বলে, চক্রান্ত করে, কুৎসা করে। যখন মানুষ রাস্তায় বেরোতে পারেনি, মানুষ খেতে পেত না, তখন এনারা কোথায় ছিলেন?
• গুজরাটে দলিতরা গিয়েছিল নাচ দেখতে তাদের পিটিয়ে মারা হয়েছে।
• বাংলায় আদিবাসী দলিত ও সংখ্যালঘু সাধারণ মানুষদের আমরা বুকে আগলে রাখি, এখানে কোন ভেদাভেদ নেই।
• আপনাদের এখানকার শান্তি রক্ষা করতে হবে আমি আপনাদের পাশে থাকব বন্ধু হিসেবে
  পাহাড় ও জঙ্গল মহল সব জায়গায় আমি যাই।
• দিল্লির উস্কানিতে পাহাড় অশান্ত হয়েছিল, এখন পাহাড় শান্ত।
• উস্কানি দিয়ে শান্তি নষ্ট করা যাবে না, আমরা তা মেনে নেব না।
• আমি মনে করি আদিবাসী ছাত্রছাত্রীদের গুরুত্ব দিয়ে দেখা দরকার।
• কাউকে চরিত্রহীন বলা, বদনাম করা, কুৎসা করা ঠিক নয়।
• এই বাংলা মাথা নত করে না, মাথা উঁচু করে চলে; আজ সারা বিশ্বে আপনাদের কদর বেড়েছে এটা আমাদের গর্ব।
• জঙ্গলমহলের ছেলেমেয়েরা সারা পৃথিবীকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে; সেজন্য শান্তি চাই, অশান্তি নয়।
• ভারতে একটা নতুন রাজনৈতিক দল এসেছে, গৈরিক পতাকা নিয়ে মানুষে মানুষে ভেদাভেদ করছে, হিন্দু মুসলমান আলাদা করছে। আদিবাসীদের জমি কেড়ে নিচ্ছে ঝাড়খণ্ডে।
• মানুষের কাছে অনুরোধ কোনরকম সমস্যায় পড়লে প্রশাসন কে জানাবেন, প্রশাসনকে মানুষের সঙ্গে জনসংযোগ বাড়াতে হবে।
• যারা কাজ করে না তারা শুধু বড় বড় কথা বলে। কাজ করাটাই আমাদের কাজ।
• সকল পুজো কমিটি সহ বাংলার সকল মানুষকে আমি ধন্যবাদ জানাচ্ছি কারণ তারা শান্তিপূর্ণ ভাবে পুজো ও মহরম পালন করেছে, সকলকে
• শুভ বিজয়ার আন্তরিক শুভেচ্ছা।
• ঝাড়গ্রামে খুব তাড়াতাড়ি একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তৈরি করবে রাজ্য সরকার।
• আমি সব সময় আপনাদের সঙ্গে ছিলাম, আছি, থাকব।
