Bangla’s e-payment system for paddy procurement taken up as model by Centre
For the last three years in Bangla, the State Government has been directly transferring the money for paddy procurement to the bank accounts of farmers. The State Government has been very successfully running this e-payment system.
Now this has been taken up as a model for the entire country. The Centre has directed all States to implement e-payment system for the procurement of paddy from farmers.
The Centre has instructed all States that from kharif marketing season (KMS) 2018-19, the money for paddy procurement has to be deposited in farmers’ accounts within 24 to 72 hours.
This is another victory for the e-governance system being implemented across Bangla by various departments, a step fervently championed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
