Bangla Govt to set up cyber crime helpline

The Bangla Government is planning to set up a state-of-the-art centre for cybercrime called West Bengal Cyber Security Centre of Excellence, which would also house a helpline. Complaints against crimes related to internet (both computer and mobile-linked) from people across the State would be accepted here.
Both the helpline and the centre of excellence would work on a 24×7 basis. The centre would initially be housed in New Town, and later moved to Sector V in Salt Lake, according to an official of the State Government.
The formal name of the helpline system is ‘Complaint and Grievance Redressal Management System (CGRMS)’, expressions of interest for which were called on October 10.
The selected company would have to set up and manage the helpline, and provide training to those handling the calls.
