Bangla Govt celebrates the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address
Today, September 11, marks the 125th anniversary of the famous address of Swami Vivekananda at the World Parliament of religions. This address set the tone for the worldwide fame of Swami Vivekananda and of philosophy of Vedanta across the world.
The Bangla government is organising a week-long programme to mark this historic occasion, in association with the Ramakrishna Mission. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would be present at the inaugural function today at Belur Math.
The Bangla Government is preparing for large-scale preparations of the occasion cross the State. Various programmes including seminars in public halls and in schools and seminars explaining the still-relevant ideals of Swami Vivekananda would be held.
