Bangla Fasal Bima Yojana to benefit farmers
To give relief to farmers, the Bangla Government had announced the waiving off of all taxes and mutation fees related to agricultural lands.
It had also announced that the government would pay the farmers’ premium too under the Bangla Fasal Bima Yojana.
Now a notice has been brought out asking all farmers to fill up the relevant form for availing of the scheme for the 2018-19 rabi season and submit it by December 31, 2018.

For the rabi season 2018-19, the rabi season crops of wheat, maize, Bengal gram, masoor, mustard, potato and sugarcane, and the summer crops of boro paddy, maize, moong, sesame and groundnut, can be insured.
Only for the commercial crops of potato and sugarcane do farmers have to bear a part of the premium – maximum of 4.85 per cent.
Farmers in debt should contact their nearest relevant bank branch and submit the necessary documents
Farmers not in debt should visit the relevant insurance company representative, ADA office of bank branch with their bank passbook, Aadhaar number and crop planting certificate.
As per the agreement between the government and the insurance companies, all insurance companies are organising awareness camps in every gram panchayat and block.
