Air and water Ambulance will be there in Gangasagar Mela this year

Bangla Government is going to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims visiting the Gangasagar Mela in January 2020. Air ambulances and 100 water ambulances will be present for any health emergency of any pilgrim. This way, they can be brought to Kolkata bypassing the traffic on the road.
The State Government will also provide life insurance to pilgrims with a coverage upto Rs 5 lakh. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee instructed government officials to take every possible action to make the fair more convenient for pilgrims.
On November 25, Bangla CM chaired a meeting at Nabanna to review the preparations for the annual fair. Ministers in charge of departments like rural development, power, urban development, fire services, along with other government officials were present in that meeting.
Like previous years, the Bangla CM has divided the responsibility of overseeing the Gangasagar Mela among the ministers .This year the fair will begin on January 11 and continue till January 15. She also asked the Power Minister to resolve any electricity-related issue at the fair.
