Stipend of anganwadi workers has increased in Bangla

In answer to a question in the State Assembly on June 24, the Women & Child Development and Social Welfare Minister said that the stipend given to anganwadi workers has increased from Rs 1,000 in 2011 to Rs 7,250 currently. And for assistant workers, the stipend has increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 5,300.

Therefore, in comparison to the Left Front days, the condition of the workers has admirably increased.

She also said that the number of anganwadi centres in Bangla is currently 1 lakh 19 thousand 481, which employ 1 lakh 7 thousand 665 people.

Another aspect that has improved since the days of the Left Front Government is the number of anganwadi centres having their own offices: from 19,506 in 2011 to 55,106 in May 2019.
