Five more permanent Sufal Bangla stalls inaugurated

Five more Sufal Bangla stalls were inaugurated recently, in Kolkata and two other places, bringing the total across the State to 112. The Agricultural Marketing Minister inaugurated them on February 27 from the campus of the Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya.
The five permanent stalls are located in New Alipore, Charu Market and Kankurgachi in Kolkata, at the Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya campus in Mohanpur in Nadia district and in Itahar in Uttar Dinajpur district.
The Agricultural Marketing Department is also developing a home delivery app for all products available at the Sufal Bangla stalls.
The minister, while inaugurating the stalls, said that the aim of the State Government is to open 200 stalls, including permanent and mobile, in 2019.
Sufal Bangla stalls were introduced by the Bangla Government in 2014 to ensure the availability of fresh vegetables at the right price for common people. Now, besides vegetables, they sell fruits, aromatic rice, mustard oil, milk and milk products, meat and eggs too.
